Will we beat Arsenal in the Champions League?

I thought todays derby was very low key, but at the end of the day we dominated and got the win we deserved. Eveton fans must be hugely dissapointed they were crap , simular to us at Man u.

I thought Sami Hypia was immense today and Risse seemed back on song, add Stwbie G Reinna and Torres they all played well, I thought Lucas and Kuyt were our weak links and Alonso didnt do a great deal either ( how Kuyt gets a game is beyond me ).
This result is all important five points clear with six games left merans were allmost there for Forth spot, qualifying for the Champions League is so important if we want to sign Top Class players to the club in the Summer.
So iI guess a job well done, now for another huge game against the gunners.

Dissapointing performances again from Kuyt , lucas and Babel. how can benitez warrant selecting kuyt week in week out ? , the guy never scores and is inept at everything he does, it is amazing as to how he gets selected.

Why is benitez trying to transform lucas Into a holding midfielder ?, lucas was an attacking player in Brazil in the Stevie G mould , so why the negativity ? he is young but needs to improve his passing , and he was caught in possesion too many times.

babel yet again flattered to decieve , why put a right footed player out on the left wing ? surely it would be better for him to be on the right ? Babel needs a lot of work on his game before he convinces me that he is good enough for our team, he has an awful lot of learning to do.

It concerns me that no one other than Torres or Grrard seems capable of getting on the scoresheet, personally I think Brnneyoun should be given a run in the team as he poses a goal threat and i'm dumfounded as to why Kuyt gets in ahead of Crouch ?

I dsiagree base21 Iam not trying to have a go at Benitez just because I don't like him and would prefer to see him replaced.
He is playing Babel out of position which is wrong,why play a right footed player on the left ? you remark about Kewell is spot on my great grandmother could play better Kewell should not have his contract renewed unfortunately injuries have taken there toll.

He is also playing Lucas out of position he is not a holding midfielder when in Brazil he won Brazilian young footballer of the year for being a free flowing adventurous goalscoring midfielder ( check it out if you dont believe me ), as for Kuyt well everyone on here knows his weaknesses the bigest one being his failure to find the net which with no disrepect is what a stiker is paid to do, he is suffering , and has no confidence , it is also questionable as to wether he is out of his depth in the Premiership. His work rate cannot be questioned but as a striker you are rated on goals alone

Benitez has a knack of playing players out of position and playing negitivelly, and to my mind is not getting the best out of Babel or Lucas as a result, he is not giving the young lads a chance , they have undoubted talent but it needs to be nurtured not ruined. How would you like it if you were a young player trying to prove your worth and be played out of position ? Babell has to try an warrant his 12m transfer fee Lucas his 6m fee that puts pressure on them to begin with , playing them out of position is not going to help either players confidence.

Re a lack of respect for Benitez , you may be correct I dont rate the guy ,and would like to see him replaced , I'm just not a Rafa Benitez fan , without Gerrard and Torres I feel we would be a mid table side , which is hardly proggress in my book. I dislike the way the team plays football these days full of negativity and hoofing the ball up field. I feel we should be doing a lot better.

Rouman I dont disagree I just feel that if Babel were played on the right or upfront , we would see more from him, his right footed and it makes sense to do so.

Equally the same could be said for Lucas why put square pegs in round holes , Lucas is an attacking midfielder being played as a defensive one, is it any wonder his performance wasnt that good, play him in a role he is comfortable in.

I agree Julie that there must be someone in the 45,000 at Anfield who would do better out on the pitch than Dirk Kuyt.

He is the Dutch Robbie Savage. All effort no ability, never out of the press taking shit, and usually worthless to his team on the pitch.

Jamie has had a hard season he has played alongside agger hypia and srytel, he has also covered at right full back , he has played in a lot of games ( no rotation for Jamie ) and his overall performances have been good. Yes he does lack a bit of pace , yes he does miss agger but he makes u[p for it by giving his all in every game, dont write jamie off he has two or three good years in him yet.

Does anyone know who the 3 players are that rafa has signed for next season one of them will go straight in to the starting 11 for next season who could this person be anyone have an incline? or know who it could be i hope its someone we have all heard of. henry? yea right i wish lol!

SURELY HE MUST BE WORTH 10M - 12M AT TODAYS PRICES. LETS HOPE RAFA USES THE MONEY WISELY BECAUSE GOD FORBID IF ANYTHING HAPPENED TO TORRES. WE CANT RELY ON KUYT AND VORONIN THEY WOULD STRUGGLE TO SCORE IN A BROTHEL.
