Transfer window signings
I dont think we will be signing many players, I reckon Lucas Neill from Blackburn, then maybe another central defender. Cant see us getting strikers, Rafa has said recently he doesnt want another striker, we already have enough left sided players (Warnock, Riise, Aurelio, Gonzalez , Kewell when he gets back from injury), we have Momo back soon, so i doubt a central midfielder, so a right back and a central defender is all i can see us getting.

Feel we\shouldn't go too crazy in the transfer window but if a player of quality comes available i'm sure funds will be made available. I think the Mascherano move could happen, but talk of a new striker is un necessary as we have 4 strikers and Luis Garcia who can also play as a second striker remember.

Would not want Torres, plus he will (hopefully) stay in Spain, for his and other clubs own good. I mean, look at Morientes, a goal god in Spain, comes to England and really struggles, goes back to Spain and can't stop scoring again.
If Torres is to become one of the best players in the world, he best stay in Spain.
As for Distin, yeah, em no. City can keep him or let him go to another mid-table team. With Distin we would have Hyypia, covered by Agger, possibly covered by Paletta, covered by Distin? 4CBs and 1 position?
Mascherano would be a nice signing and I think that West Ham has held him and Tevez down, a better team and maybe they would have shone better.
Villa would be nice too, but no doubt Valencia will over-price him, and he does act a bit stupid sometimes such as diving, which isn't really the way Liverpool play.
I'd rather see-
-Possibly another Goalkeeper, in case Dudek goes, but not one who will try and out-shine Reina, just a cover. Or just re-call Carson.
-Another RB, and that will probably be in the form of Neill. Although Finnan gets on with the job and is a sound RB, Neill has potential to really make an impact on a game, although he has got attention-grabbing syndrome, and might be prone to poor tackling at times.
-Another CMF, even though Sissoko is coming back soon, I think we need another centre mid, which could be Mascherano; or someone a little better going forward (ahem Kaka anyone?)
-Not another striker, unless it is a real class act who has proven they can score in the Premiership, like Darren Bent or something.
-Possible another RMF, although Pennant is improving quite a lot now.
Hopefully the takeover will come sooner rather than later, then players who seem beyond our bugjet are suddenly affordable.

The signing of a striker of his class and potential would really contribute to the task of winning the prem. I'd go so far as to say, off load Crouch and then we'd possibly have the strongest strike force in the prem .. a mix of speed, power and experience!
Javier would be a killer signing we should take him even if he can't play this season as he has soooo much potential. If we let him get away 2 yrs down the line we'll be raving about what a player he is as he marshal's some midfield on the continent.
Today is a must win game and will really be a test of Rafas tactical nous... Go on lads!

the match starting line-up
liverpool`s formation should be a 4-4-2 formation with bellamy and kuyt up front,kewell,gerrard, alonso and pennant at midfield and finnan, carragher,hyypia and riise as defenders.the subs should be aurelio, dudek, agger, crouch and luis garcia. i do think that luis garcia and kewell should change in some matches
frustrating
For me Garcia has been at the club long enough to stop being so inconsistent, I really struggle to work out his best position. He isn't a natural winger nor do i think he's a natural stiker but he has a canny knack of scoring some important goals but i wonder.. when he's not played particularly well and we've lost should we be more critical?? yesterday against assnal he was frustrating to say the least and really offered nothing on the left in terms of crossing or threating play, and as a result the 2 center halves looked comfortable and the counter attack more dangerous. We simply cannot afford to play crouch and not pepper their box with crosses, the tall fellow isn't blessed with pace so we have to play to his strengths , what were we doing. So much ineffectual possession was almost embarrassing and if a lot of the lads think the game is about that, they need a reality check. we need to be ruthless and crouchie ain't! I honestly think the key to the prem is a good core of pace due to the speed most games are played .. maybe on the continent.. not so much ?? but here strikers (unless very clever) need to be quick and i'm sorry to say but if we don't grab bent in the transfer window, I'd wonder about rafas transfer nous cos we are crying out for the guy! 3 -1 some will say it flattered assnal but in reality they played like a typical traveling side and got the result!!

He is injured so would do well to play in any formation... Spends more time on the pat and mick than on the pitch

what is wrong with this guy? he may score some important goals in the league but most of the time he becomes addicted to the ball and never passes. he really needs to learn more and become patient at the edge of defeat. on the other hand he needs to copy some skills from proffesionels like cristiano ronaldo and ronaldinho

I say rest bellamy first half give him a run out second half and let some fringe players have a shot, cos after all it is the carling cup. Lot of news flying about suggesting bellamy could be leaving, what a load of crap!!! We'd be mad too even contemplate it. Hopefully we can get Darren Bent, Javier Mascherano as they out of all the names suggested may come. Who ever said Joe cole... well to be polite I'll have some of what your having mate!!
The season ain't over yet but a lot of players have really got pull their socks up cos it's beginning to get disappointing. The fight for third is gonna be ferocious this year and if we can build on our current advantage we will stand in good stead!

For the good of mascherano, steven gerrrard and xabi, mascherano should not come. We have sissoko coming back, and then gerrard will go to the rite. he can cover up for these two, if mascherano comes where will we put him, obviously he doesnt like being on the bench and thats were hes gona be at liverpool, and crocuh hes so promising, what a waste it would be to sell him.

It's true Gerrad will probably go back on the right when Sissoko comes back but then that leaves us with the issue of Stevie spending the next couple yrs on the wing! And i'm afraid i can't see that happening, so how do we juggle the midfield then. My personal opinion is we have a midfielder that isn't pulling their weight and he ain't from the mersey!!
I say take a chance on Javier as it's a bit off good buisness.. he'll be keen to impress so will play even better and worse way we could make a profit come summer.
Last thing... I see no potential in crouch ... he's crap in the air .. slow... has poor movement... and is weak against defenders ???? He's a striker!!!! I'm sorry but when did those short comings become associated with potential??
Relegated
Why do we keep buying players off teams that have been relegated? Crouch and Pennant looked good for there old teams, but not good enough to help them survive. Southamton relegated with Crouch, Leeds and Birmingham relegated with Pennant. They were big fish in little ponds, now there in the deep red sea and don't think they quality to perform for us. Darren Bent would be a big risk as he could fall into this catagorie of the big fish.

I agree, West Ham are the only team buying in the premiership. They must be paying a good wage to get Boa Morte from Fulham. We should be buying world class players not just premiership class. Ledley King should be bought this summer first and foremost. We need a real fast and powerful defender beside Carragher with Agger as the back up.
Juan Roman Riquelme would also be a good siging as he has the creative spark we badly lack. We are too predictable on the ball and need some more players with flair and invention.
Up front we need a world class centre forward beside Kuyt. Maybe Trezequet. Bellamy and Crouch as squad players.
