Crouch
Crouch will b the best goal scorer if he plays...voting wont change anything...tores will play his first league n wont adapt that easily but will start scoring after many many games experience with liverpool.voronin looks good will perform great if he continue to fight,kuyt is good gut needs luck...therfore VOTE FOR CROUCH....against villa if crouch play he will be in the score sheets.defenitely liverpool will beat villa...dont worry,,,

I can't say I like Crouch in fact he really gets on my nerves, as he's lazy and always expects the ball to just fall at his feet, and when that happens half the time he doesn't know what do with it! But for Liverpool's sake I obviously hope you're right!

Yeah, but unfortunately he scores only in set pieces, is very lazy to run, most of the time when pennant run with the ball and look for a striker upfront, there is nobody coz Mr Crouch is still walking in midfield...after the Cross, he will try to get the ball with his feet coz he don't know how to use his head(exceptions are after broken nose) and while doing that he will concede a foul, and the ball awarded to the opposite team.
But i reckon he can do better work than kuyt when given a run of games, he is more lucky, he can act as a tower directing the ball to the feet of other players...
As for the ball against Villa am sure we gonna win it, am even going to bet on that.
i can still not understand how people can vote for kuyt as best scorer, when he don't even show 5% of improvement in his scoring capability...i'll vote for him if he really proves so, and even praise him..But unfortunately no sign of improvement miles ahead.
Voronin looks better deal after Crouch and Torres, hope he do get lots of games and along good players.

i think crouch is a bettet option than kuyt. he is not lazy he just can,t run. and given a run in the side he will be are top scorer. he got 18 last year , and only played so many games voronin also is worth a try, as for villa its a close call , 2/1 to us.

PERSONALLY I THINK PETER CROUCH IS A VERY GOOD PLAYER, LAST SEASON HE DID WELL AND WOULD HAVE DONE EVEN BETTER GIVEN MORE GAMES. HE SCORES GOALS NOT JUST FOR US BUT FOR ENGLAND. LAY OFF HIM, IF GIVEN THE OPPORTUNITY HE WILL DEFINATELY GET 20 GOALS THIS SEASON.
Crouch is better than Kuyt or Veronin
I'd prefer Crouch to Kuyt anyday yet I'm also of the opinion Crouch isn't good enough for a regular spot.
Would Utd, Chelski, Milan, Madrid, Barce, Bayern, Inter or even Arsenal give him a regular spot up front? No chance - and the reason isn't because anyone has a pick on him. It's because he's quite good up front, but not good enough for top teams.
An excellent sub, though.

If we had those 3 strikers up front we'd have a much better chance of winning the league I assure you. You're entitled to your opinion about Crouch as is every other fan who rates him; but the reality remains the same.
A) He'll only ever be a sub for England when Owen and Rooney are fit because no one seriously rates him in their class. (So why would he then be a Liverpol FC regular?)
B) Rafa Benitez bought Peter Crouch yet left him on the bench for a European Cup final and for most of our big European games last season. He has seen Crouch's limitations and his often negative effect on the team's overall play by slowing everything down when we need quick feet and pace up front.
Personally, all I am interested in in the club, not individual players. That's why I don;t care who scores. But it makes it easier to see who isn't good enough when you don't have favourite players.

I hope Crouch goes on this season and scores 25 league goals like Van Nistelrooy did in Madrid and puts up two fingers to everyone who thinks he's only a bench striker for Liverpool. I'd be as happy for Crouch to do it as Torres or anyone else. All I care about is the team winning.
But I'd say there's gigantic odds on Crouch getting 20 league goals and the bookies know their business better than any so take their advice if not people on this forum and don't put a penny on Peter Crouch shooting us to the title.

Those three players Ibrahomivic, Crespo and Adriano, are all complete crap. If Liverpool had those three playing up front playing for us we really would have problems this season. Crouch and Kuyt are miles better players. As for Adriano he has eat all the pies.

Agree with 1Red1Pool to a point. Crouch can do a job. He did score 18 goals. However, he only got 9 in the league and although a hat-trick against Arsenal in commendable, it only highlights the fact that he CAN'T be consistant enough. I think Benitez has somewhat lost faith in Crouch's ability. He wants to use him as an impact sub, but Crouch fails to impress when introduced late in games or even early as the case may be (He did't score at all when brought on as a sub last season). Crouch needs to realise that if he is to stay at Liverpool he'll have to be content with a bit part role, because he is an average player who would perform well at an average (mid-table) team.
You are right to say that he wouldn't get a game for another top team and I'm sure some of them have a little snigger to themselves when they see him in the starting lineup.

Appearance Factor...
Tall, thin, gangly, geeky guys like Crouch don't appear to be running or moving that fast. So, they get called lazy. While those compact wee fellas churning and tearing down the wing look like they're giving 110 per cent. Always been that way. In reality, the tall gangly guys legs are covering more ground, it just doesn't look that way. Appearance is a factor. Crouch is a decent striker, but he's not a superstar. If he played every game, he'd get 10-15 goals, a decent amount. We have to hope Kuyt, Voronin and Torrez will be better. We need a 20-25-goal striker. I think the sleeper is Voronin. He might be the one.

Yesterday ended up as a good start to the league for us but old flaws remained.
We were well the better team and yet nearly dropped two points yet again. We needed an own goal and a super goal just to finish off a mid-table Villa team. And the reasons remain the same as last season. NO MATCH WINNERS except Gerrard, and hopefully Torres and Babel as the season progresses.
For all of Kuyt and Pennant's running around the reality is that without goals it's pointless. You can hammer a team in open play but if your players don't put the ball in the net then it's all going to end in tears.
Look at the difference when Babel came of for Pennant; immediately he was direct and looking for crucial shots or assists; not just running down the wings like Pennant with very little end product. People talk about Pennant improving; but how many assists had he last season and how many goals? Because end product is all the game is about at the highest level. Pennant did well in the European Cup final to the spectator's eyes, but his end product was zero. He failed to score himself and played bad final balls when it really mattered. I like Pennant; he has more potential that I thought. But he has to score goals and set up clear goals to be a top class winger; right now he definitely isn't. Quaresma would be a far superior match winner on the right wing.
As for Kuyt, his hard work is commended when some one else scores the goals to win us games. But you need strikers who score goals. Otherwise any one of us could run our guts off up front for Liverpool every week but it wouldn't make us good enough if we didn't get goals, would it. Crouch is more likely to score than Kuyt, so I'd have Torres and Crouch.

We did not got him, Rafa did not showed any sign that he is interested in the player..why are u guys always moaning about Quaresma!!!
He has not put his legs in the premiership and u thinkthat he would start scoring from the first minutes...It took Ronaldo one season to start scoring more goials and perform better...Rafa has build a good team, let the players mould into a team and let him do the fine tuning next year, hoping for some improvement in this season..thats all we can do.

Pennant is improving every year, he played quite well in preseason together with Crouch and voronin...
As for Babel he is new to the english style, but show rapid sign of adaptation.
Torres is a world class player...with2-3 matches he surely would start proving his worth.

i think you have missunderstood, what i said. kuyt is a problem, but so is pennant. how many goals does he score/.. why does he keep losing the ball, and why is his final ball poor. he only ever does things in patches, not consistent at all. babel is better than him now more direct and he will score goals, don,t get me wrong pennant is ok, but thats all. a squad member.and crouch has scored goals pennant has,t even as you might say agaist weak teams. he allso passes the ball back too often. sorry not a liverpool player. and it will not surprize me if he moves on.

ALL IN ALL THE RIGHT RESULT BUT WE MADE HARD WORK OF IT. PENNANT NEEDS TO DO BETTER WITH HE'S FINAL PASS, WOULD PREFER TO SEE BABELL ON FROM THE START.

Well nobody's perfect.Let,s not forget the improvement crouch had last season compared to the season before.His goalscoring -goals/min ,goal/chances was better.He was not lazy at all,he helped in defence ,in midfield also.I think he should have been given more playing minutes as his confidence level and his goals tally would surely have gone up.He had a few flick-ons which Bellamy, Gerrard, Kuyt etc. wasted-had they scored his assists would have totaled to a very respectable number.His presence in the opposition box created a lot of confusion and goalscoring chances to others.The only criticism of him that I had was the opportunites he could not convert with his head(considering his height).I am absolutely certain that this season, given the playing opportunities,Crouch will delight us all.He better understands what is required of him,is more experienced ,more mature.

With regards to crouch..I personally believe he isnt LFC calibre.He did however score a brilliant hattrick against the gooners,but ask yourself this question..How ofen can he pull something like that off??From scoring a hattrick in one game ..then not being able to score afterwards.Im not saying he is a bad player..all im saying is that he isnt a great player....TO WIN A LEAGUE YOU NEED GREAT PLAYERS UPFRONT.
In my opinion crouch doesnt deserve a first team line up..My opinion fellas no need to get worked up about it yeah.I would prefer to see Torres and Babel up front..Babel has the creative ability and also has pace.Crouch doesnt have either.Crouch is ok with his feet and ok with his head...But how many times have we seen him mess up from the 6 yard box...tooooo many thats the answer if your looking for it .Crouch is a player that when he is a first teamer ..the style of play differs totally ..where all the lads do is lift the ball up and hope he passes it on headers it on to a very inconsistent Kuyt..Come on when Kuyt gets a flick on from any of the players , whats does he go and do ? He puts himself in a right pickle opting to go for the more complicated approach..That isnt needed Dirk..What is needed is for you to choose a simple route to goal and not try taking on plaayers where you dont need to ,and if you do get stuck pass it to a player who can create a chance and not pass it all the way back to Carra.
What is needed and needed badly is a player who has the ability to attack attack fucking hell attack.I do not want to go to villa on saturday and see a display which resembles the fixture we had against them last season.0-0 is not an option anymore.Play well and get unlucky and get a 0-0 out of it ..you might be forgiven.Play in a way that looks like you want to come away with a 0-0 for the sake of grabbing a point is not acceptable at all and you will be slated and criticised .
Rafa has been immense in the change at LFC.But it is his style that has to change differing with the importance of the game and also the opposition.We called Rafa a master tactician before no ? I still have faith that he is..But a master tactician must know exactly how the opposing team plays.He reads the change of tactics another manager does and adjusts the game according to that...ONLY TO WIN..Not just to save a point.
Sorry to say this but this season I will be expecting a more impressive league run against the weaker "smaller teams"Not only that but i would expect anfield to be the fortress that it once was.
Bring 2007/2008 on..but lets face it ..if there is not a good show from the first 5 games ..we shouldnt be expecting a title mount.I dont care that some people might say its the start of the season...We were saying the same last season and what happened ? we kissed number 19 goodbye in january.NOT AGAIN PLEASE.

if u see all the match of liverpool the previous season crouch was exellent n i still believe that tis season he will rock...He is not rapid feet as he is too long but he fight against himself to run faster.he makes the defence get confusion with he tricky play to score..for his height he is very good as dont forget he has score a over kick n also bicycle kick that is impossible to expect a such tall guy to do...but still he had do it several times,,,he has a gud controll of the ball n dont lose it.he makes gud passes with head n he himself scored many times with his head...this season gerrard,alonso,pennant,kewell,babell will help Our strikers to score n on every cross u will see the GREAT PETER CROUCH...Tores has quick feet but is not good as crouch on accrobatic goals neither header...do u AGREE dear FRIENDS n fans of liverpool fc

I do say Crouch is lazy, But he can improve drastically...Especially if he learns how to score with his head!!
He does not use the advantage he has on other players, a wasted height...
He only use his height for assists, that at least is a positive thing out of him. He also has very good technical skills.
But he concede too many foul upfront intead of getting penalty for us :(
As some other fans has outline here he scored 9 goals last season, minus 3 goal v/s assnal, mean he scored only 6 goals, what were those teams?? West ham, charlton, wigan...Even Pongolle could have had scored in those games.
But we need to agree that he has done better job than rooney for England!!! He get loads of crosses, and at least bag some goals overthere, what has rooney or owen did in the previous year for England??? Crouch is still better option For the national team.
Well, he can improves incredibly, if he don't concede fouls, start scoring more goals from the head (coz when trying to get his feet in the air to score he fouls) and if given a good run of games, he will certainly not dissapoint us...He has done quite a good job in preseason when played alongside Voronin and pennant, as compared to Kuyt who was no better with whoever he has been played.

Liverpool pay his wages... so playin well for LFC is more important. Look at Carra, I fully support him in his decision to retire from international football. Because he wants to stay fresh for us and perform well for us.

Part of the reason for him scoring for England is that the quality of defences he scores against are poor. Jamaica, Moldova or Albania. He scores against teams like that. Teams like Wigan and West Ham last season. Hardly difficult at the top level. I can't understand how he gets his game for England when there are much more options out there for them.

Arsenal aren't crap, no, but everyone was stunned when crouch scored the hat trick. The Arsenal supporters couldn't believe it and most Liverpool fans were even more shocked and what made it worse was the arsenal fans were completely embarrassed by it, which the certainly wouldn't be if someone more likely had done it. I don't like crouch as I've said before but he is useful as a striker to fall back on, I really hope Rafa doesn't have him as first choice forward

its ok for chelsea to keep 2 top flight keepers, if we want to win the league we need the cover in all positions including keeper.

He was playing behind a very average defence at Charlton and without him they would have been down not long after Xmas.
He was at fault for the Chinese goal but oalkeeping is a no hiding place position, If Carra makes 2 or 3 mistakes in a game it gets hidden by the other 20 tackles. Goalies playing for the likes of L'pool can onlyh make amends if the other team get past the Carra's first.
I repeat If he does go and Reiner gets injured what then ? bye bye any chance of the league

Mihaylov is a good BackUp for Reina...
Mihaylov has shown better goalkeeping ability than Carson, he is young has played in Champions league, has good reflex, Why do we still need Carson..i don't really think he is that good, at least a keeper should have some role in a match, not just depends on the defenders..What has he really did for Charlton, they lost around 30 of their matches, so how many saves has Carson really made for them????
Even when played with Carragher he concedes goals, not just against the chinese team but also in the Cups in the previous years.
Why not get the money and buy another player who can really bring attacking spirit to the team!!!
If u have players able to score 5-6 goals u don't need to worry about Back up for keepers, especially with good defending that we have.
What great keeper did ManUre had last season as Backup, yet they won the EPL by attacking and scoring, not by defending!!!
