Jamie Carragher  was Liverpool's Player of the Season for 2004/05 and was a major part of the team that won the Champions League, Liverpool's fifth European Cup. He played in every Champions league game, and every premiership game last season. He displayed Heroics in the champions league final, playing on despite suffering severly from cramp, keeping Shevchenko, Crespo and Kaka' at bay long enough for Liverpool to win on penalties.

On his premiership debut, he scored against Aston Villa, then went several years without scoring, but scoring is not his forte, defending is-where he has now got a place in the England squad, and is almost certain to go to the world cup next year.

Carragher was a boyhood everton fan, but is now a red, and is arguably the most committed player on the pitch every game, along with Stevie Gerrard, making him one of the most popular players amongst the fans.
