Ref gives Kuyt explanation of why he ruled out Gerrard's goal.

Dirk Kuyt says there was nothing wrong with Steven Gerrard's goal, and that Referee Andre Marriner gave a reason for disallowing it.
Had Steven Gerrard's free kick stood; it would have been his 100th goal for Liverpool, but the referee ruled it out, claiming there was someone in an offside position according to Dirk Kuyt: "It was a perfectly good goal, nobody touched the ball as it curled in and certainly not me,"
"I had no intention of doing anything because the ball was going in and it had not been flicked on or anything like that. I was not interfering with play.
"The referee said there was someone in the eye-line of the keeper who was offside."

gerrards goal
this was the same referee that gave that penalty outside the box at reading last season and then allowed a goal for reading when leroy leta was almost standing on pepe reinas toes! add to that the TWO penalty claims turned down for challenges on torres and I think its clear this guy doesnt like us; there again, who does?
People always make excuses
People always make excuses for mistakes they made. One of them is the linesman. However LFC had 87 minutes to make amends for that mistake. Yes it cost them a goal but with 87 mins to go, don't tell me you can't score a goal against a team like Stoke.
we scored one! I can accept
we scored one! I can accept the mistake lad, its the explaination thats hard to take given the 'goal' that was allowed to stand at reading by the same ref! inconsistency by different officials is one thing but to have different interpretations by the same fella that BOTH punish your team sticks in the throat
we arent giving an excuse
we arent giving an excuse brother! we r talking about the disallowed goal! get the facts right first before start crap. yes i agree we cldnt capitalize on remaining 87+3added minutes. that is football. And stop underestimating other teams. and its a disgrace when u mention "teams like stoke". go and do some homework! they r not just another bad team otherwise they wont be in premier league. they battle all the way from lower division which shows they r a good team and to not to concede a goal against so-called one of big four away, shows they have the quality needed to upset anyone. i do not knw u belong to which club, underestimating another team is an evil thing. we scousers always respect other teams. we are just dissapointed with poor refereeing that happens often nowadays, especially against us. may god bless you.. WALK ON!
Swings and round-a-bouts
You just have to take it on the chin and move in, we have been given dodgy decisions in the past, and we'll get them in the future.

Liverpool v Stoke
Referees will always make mistakes, failing to stick the ball in the back of the net more than once in 90 minutes against STOKE at ANFIELD was ours!!!!!!!
yez are missing the point!
yez are missing the point! I`m not complaining about the mistake I accept that happens and we have benefited from them in the past. I am concerned about the inconsistency from the referee; to better illustrate that how about the fact that he red-carded guthrie for his challenge on the hull lad without heistation and then gives ricardo fuller a yellow in almost identical circumstances
by the way hero (scousers always moaning) why tell us where you`re from - probably one of those no-mark places like manchester!
Andre Marriner and Gerrard's Goal
I heard the average size of a Stoke first team player is 6ft 2ins!! It's no wonder we struggled to score against them, they are all giants!! But more importantly, if what Redscouse is saying is true then the FA should take a retrospective look at referee's to see if they are biased in any way. Like Mike Riley and is penchant to give penalties to United at Old Trafford. I definitely get the feeling that there are about 3 or 4 referees in the Premiership who constantly give bad decisions against Liverpool and consequently we rarely win games in which they officiate. People like Bennett, Riley and now Marriner, there are one or two others who I hate to see referee a Liverpool game because I know we never seem to get the right decisions.
to stevie g
u r 100% truly right i hate these refs aswell looks like they r all 4 manure chelski & ars 2 me i know, not think, these refs r getting back paid just so these so called teams can win becoz they cant beat us any other way
say what you want about the
say what you want about the teams performance for the remaining 87+3 minutes, but Stevie G deserves that goal for himself, and I think the ref was being disrespectful to both stevie and the game of football by not upholding the consistency of the game. The team is responsible for the outcome of the game, but stevie deserved that goal nonetheless.
to all these anonymous peeps
why dont you all put your names on so we all know who we are talking to also we all know if your all boy/girl/man or woman but all respect goes to each & every1 just a thought thanx
julie.
your being to nice, all those who cannot put a name on are not worth replying to. back up your statments with your name be proud who you are, and most of all be proud of lfc,, julie is being too nice to you all .
The Floodgates.
The point is that if Stevie G's 'goal' had been rightly given then Stoke would have had to try and equalise at least. Making the game more open and giving Liverpool more space behind the defenders. The floodgates would have opened then for Liverpool.
One famous manager said 'If the team comes and parks their team bus in front the goal it's hard to score !!'
Gerrard Goal
We could have done with that ref at Reading Watford game. He would have given all 32 shots and 20 corners as goals so in his eyes we won 52 - 0 !!!!
rouman
im so sorry i just thought they were genuine lfc fans i will think of my words very carefully next time thanx 4 reply
julie.
you have no need to be sorry, its was,t your fault, a lot of scally,s come on here, from all clubs thats why i try not to answer them.
Had that goal stood, Stoke
Had that goal stood, Stoke would have abandon their defensive tactics for the remaining 87 mins+3, Liverpool would counter-attack when they try for an equaliser and not playing a team that have 11 men in the box.
Poor referee decision cost us 3 pts again. Like Chelsea phantom penalty last season....
