Why does he wait so long to make changes? and then make fuckin stupid ones when he does! 1st sub was forced, fair enough, 2nd should have been Babel for Kuyt, and the 3rd at the same time should have been Crouch for Alonso, with SG slotting into centre midfield, even with our other two tossers playing shit that might have been good enough to win us the game. And Stevie G doing Grant was bettered only by the two goals! LFC-4-EVER!

The Battle was made in Midfield. Do you think taking off Alonso (for Crouch) and move Gerrard to Central Midfield would have worked?I don't think so because Gerrard was man Marked by Makelele and we would have lost control of the midfield completely. I do admit he got one sub wrong (Pennant), should have been crouch then gerrard pushed to the right or left. Kuyt stayed on because of his workrate. You don't always get everything right with subs. the injury to Skertel was the main turning point. We lost his pace and precise tackling when he was replace by Hyypia (still a good servant though). I believe the biggest mistake Rafa made was to direct criticism to Drogba (yes he is a diver) but that made his want to show his worth and he did. First goal, Kalou was fkn offside. Luck was not there for us...all we can do is wait for next season. We should have some better players

Last night's disappointment is still strong considering our season is now over. But the most important thing now is that we make a statement in the summer by signing some top class players.

Benitez must know now that in his 5th season he has to come close to winning the title. To do that he needs to sign better players than he is being linked with in the press.

Buy quality players and your team will immediately improve. Buy iffy players and you stand still or decline.

Last season we came 3rd and were runners up in the Champions League. This season, after buying a world class striker, we finish 4th and only reach the semi final. None of Benitez's other summer signings - Babel, Benayoun or Leiva - contributed enough to help us challenge for the title.

So Benitez needs to accept we need better players in certain positions and he needs to buy proven talent, not players who have no experience at the highest level of club football.

We can't keep talking about buying for tomorrow or planning for tomorrow. We need to challenge next season and no more excuses.

Have to say about last night,Riise yet again caught ball watching on the first goal (should have been watching Dogballs coming in from behind him rather than run towards the goal). And yet again the same for the third goal, ball watching while Anelka ran past him. He put up a feeble hand for off side, knowing he should have been marking him.He is famous for this .Arsenal have caught onto this, in the past particularly Helb, who has exploited Riise's poor concentration. Time for him to go!!!!!
