Former fan's favourite Luis Garcia will be returning to Anfield when Liverpool face Atletico Madrid in the Champion's League group stages; as will fellow Atletico team mate Florent Sinama Pongolle.
Luis Garcia was a vital part of the side that won the 2005 European Cup, where he scored memorable goals against Bayer Leverkusen, Juventus and of course the definate goal against Chelsea; no doubt he will get a rapturous applause and a few renditions of his song will be belted out throughout the night.
Bolo Zenden who now plys his trade at Marseille will also be back at Anfield for the second time in two seasons.

cant wait to see garcia back
cant wait to see garcia back at anfield, if wer winnin lyk 3-0 i hope he scores, liverpool cud do with him at the minute, we lack width and intervention on the wings and garcia always had a good eye for goal, legend in my eyes.
we`ll all welcome back
we`ll all welcome back garcia some great goals 4 the reds
is this true??
r u all saying that garcia is coming back?? if so well what can i say but WELCOME BACK now let the games begin
Luis Garcia
Luis isn´t habitual player in atletico, only playes at de seconds parts.
Not good enough signings
I've hoped all summer we'd sign Barry because I think he'd do well alongside Mascherano and he's a top class player but alas it's not to be. Basically, if you exclude Robbie Keane, we've signed pure 2nd rate players.
Sicknote Degen, Dossena (looks positionally clueless in defence), Ngog, Riera etc etc.. are not Liverpool standard players. They will not make the difference to us winning or losing the title. Keane was overpriced but should improve. Yet any fan who has witnessed Keane be absoltutely shit for his country so often in big games was worried we didn't get a better striker for the money. I hope Keane does for Liverpool what he did for Spurs but the pressure at Anfield is a different ballgame and I question Keane's ability to succeed in it.
As for Rafa the gafa, I think in the present situation with the Americans and the lack of money, it's hard to see any manager win the title this year for Liverpool. But Benitez is in his 5th season and still the same lack of creative football and lack of creative players show you the failures of the manager. He is negative and he can't build a team with enough attacking flair to win enough games week in week out to challenge for the title.
We all were glad when players like Garcia, Riise, Kewell etc.. left because they weren't up to it. But from the look of half of this summer's signings we've brought in are no better.
And if Benitez keeps playing Dirk Shyt then I am putting my boots back on and going for trials because if that fucking headless donkey Kuyt can get a game for Liverpool I know I can. He is one of the worst I can remember in terms of lack of football talent.
1Red1Pool..
We seems to be on the same boat.. With Barry and Mascherano, the 4-2-3-1 formation would had been enough for us to win the EPL. How many games did we lost with that formation at the ed of last season..JUST ONE and that was coz Mascherano was sent out and Alonso could not do the job of a holding midfield neither can lucas.
And for Dirk shyt still playing in the EPL, even can monkey can guess that this is no proper thing to do.
As for our signings.. waste of money..thats all.. as i said on the forum, may be we'll need to wait 5 months like we waited for Crouch to see keane's first goal.
But you seem to have forgotten one person in your slaughter.. Prick Parry, the yanks know nothing about football, but that misfit is ruiig our club with his incapability of carrying a proper job, its no coincidence that since he's been put as the chief executive we haven't won the title. If we had another manager i the place of Rafa, with such clowns at the command we would had been below sunderland.
100% agree with u 1red1pool
Your spot on with ur asesment of ur forum 1red1pool good 2 have u back by the way.
id would of liked barry aswell but no doubt he'll score against us on sunday its sods law! as 4 our other signing of degen dossena and maybe riera they will not win us the PL i hope keane comes good ur spot also 1red1pool about rafa not winning us the PL this season not a hope ive said this all along not with our style of play we wont we lack creativity,no attacking flair and he's negative and cant build a winning PL team this will be his last season and for the 2nd rate players we need 2 rid are endless. i.e kuyt, voronin, pennant, aurelio, alonso etc etc they need to go even b4 we can think of challenging 4 the PL we are a laughing stock of the PL and it will continue if we keep on playing 2nd raters i dunno about u 1red1pool,eddie & rouman but im dreading this season>
Was hoping for a new
Was hoping for a new improved liverpool to be on show this year, but so far WTF is this 2nd division crap we have serving up, everyone is just waiting for LFC to lose so they can rub our noses in it, we have been so lucky, we are using up a seasons luck in the opening month of the campaign, c'mon rafa get them going, before i'm too embarrassed to leave the house.
i want luis garcia and
i want luis garcia and sinama pongolle back! as for zenden... well the least said the better. garcia doesnt even play regularly for atletico and would have been better to stay at anfield, not just for me and all the other fans, but for his international career. he hasnt even appeared for spain since he left. pongolle is underrated and im glad hes going to get his chance with atletico. i hope he scores against us, as long as we win, to prove to rafa he treated him wrongly. pongolle was never given a chance and he would have been great in the prem if he was played regularly. the failure of my three ex-liverpool players, cisse, pongolle and le tallec is why i hate rafa. i would prefer to have houllier back
anonymous thank god
you stayed anonymous houiller back? are you a manc?or have they just let you out.le tallec cisse, and pongolle were not good enough. garcia yes but he wanted to go . i am not a fan of anonymous letters, coz if you got the balls to say somethink, have a name otherwise whats the point?
Misfits??
Does anybody knows what gonna happen of the misfits we currently have at lfc.. i mean Pennant and Voronin, the mercato gonna be closed in just a few days, and we've still not got them out yet. is anybody really interested in them?? Voronin came for free, even 1 million will be a profit on him, but we just gonna lose on pennant.
And what about Finnan, is he injured or what?
Saw in the newspapers the yanks gonna postpoe the constructio of the stadium, when will these misfits be shipped out?? Well once these two clowns thrown out, the third one also will automatically follow, Prick parry was, is, ad will always be incompetent in carryig deals.
faith..
its that time again, when were all killing off our team before the season really kicks in. we all want the same thing but to start complaning now ... well we all wanted diffrent players most on here wanted barry, a good player, i wanted quaersmera. vincent company would have been better than we have. we could have played better, but we have,t i donot need to tell you all that liverpool fc is a religon at least it is to me. yes we can be critical but we all need to have faith. no doubt we will have a lot of times to moan, but untill were out of the title race, c/l.fa cup etc.have some faith.i am not happy with a lot of things but i remain loyal , i allways will.the yanks, parry, and other things get me down.but hey iam giving my full backing to the team we are the 12tn man ynwa....
Reira in Liverpool for medical - should sign today
Reira is in Liverpool having a medical, he should be our player before the day is out.
I wish him every success and hope he does well. Welcome to Anfield.
Through the doom and gloom
Despite all the doom and gloom we have Six points out of Six in the Premiership and are in the Champions League group stages. And all this wiothout playing well.
The bright notes of the Season so far are the form of Reinna and Carragher, we also have Mascherano back from the Olympics, and the team has shown it's willingness to keep going for the full Ninety minutes. We can only get better.
A good performance against Villa will put us back on track. Lets hope that that is what we get this weekend, another win would set us up nicely for Manchester United.
MORE BROKEN PROMISES FROM HICKS & GILLET PLUS PRICK PARRY
Yet more broken promises from Hicks and Gillet ,
I AM MAKING IT MY BUSINESS TO HIGHLIGHT EVERY BROKEN PROMISE MADE BY THESE TWO PEICES OF SHIT.
HAD THEY NOT SADDLED THE CLUB WITH DEBT TO FINANCE THERE PURCHASE IN THE FIRST PLACE, THE NEW STADIUM WOULD BE GOING AHEAD BY NOW.CONSIDER THIS FOR A MOMENT HOW MUCH OF THERE OWN MONEY HAVE THESE TWO SHISTERS ACTUALLY INVESTED IN OUR CLUB - THE ANSWER IS VERY LITTLE, IF ANY AT ALL.
NAMING RIGHTS AND ADVANCED BOX SALES WOULD TAKE CARE OF HALF OF THE COST OF THE STADIUM ,PLUS WEVE BEEN OFFERED EUROPEAN AND NORTH WEST SUSIDY GRANTS. YET STILL HICKS & GILLET CAN'T COME UP WITH THE FINANCE. IT'S A SICK JOKE
THERE ARE ONLY THREE PEOPLE TO BLAME HICKS GILLET AND PARRY ( THE CLOWN WHO INTRODUCED THEM TO THE CLUB IN THE FIRST PLACE ).
Co-owners Tom Hicks and George Gillett have announced that the £400million arena will be delayed because of the global cash crisis (there latest excuse). Now it has emerged the delay could be for up to a year, while there is even more worrying suggestions that the Dubai investors who want to buy the club DIC may be losing interest in the whole saga.
Dr Rogan Taylor, founder of the fans' group ShareLiverpoolFC, has hit out saying: 'This has not come as a surprise. The Americans did not have any money for the stadium, We have been saying this for a long time. These guys are a broken record, they are the soap opera of Anfield Road. This just goes on and on and is just an excuse for not starting the stadium.
'The cost of the stadium goes up every time. Three years ago it was £150million, now it is £350-£400million. And now they are talking about "re-visiting" the capacity issue. 'But that was the original reason for the delay 18 months ago, these guys are not in a position to make a long-term investment of the kind required for a stadium. If there is no funding in place by spring, then European and NW development grants will be lost indefinitely for the re-generation of the area.
This is about the owners breaking our trust over and over again. They do not have the confidence of anybody in the city,'A new stadium is essential to the business structure of a modern, great club.
'Just compare the matchday 'take' at Arsenal's new Emirates Stadium or the money taken by Manchester United at Old Trafford. They pull in around three times what Liverpool manage for each match.
'If you add that up, 20 games a season, and those clubs are getting £50million more than us each season simply by playing in a bigger stadium.
'You cannot keep up with them in these circumstances. The problem is the debt our owners carry, there is not really a significant problem in raising money to build a stadium if they did not have a major debt on their backs.
'If they did not have that, raising this money is not a problem. You can get half of that up front with naming rights for the stadium and executive boxes for 10 years.
SO THERE YUO HAVE IT THE VILLAINS OF THE PEACE YET AGAIN ARE HICKS GILLET AND NOT FORGETING PRICK PARRY.
nice one eddie888
all i can add to that, is when are they going to go, there time is up petions we all need to dol somethink now. we all have had enough..

Rouman Criticalmind Kevj - WE NEED AN ANTI YANK CAMPAIGN
Guys all this shite about not affording the stadium is just that Hicks and Gillet are pulling the wool over our eyes once again.
WE NEED A CONCERTED EFFORT TO GET RID OF THESE TWO ARESHOLES, IF NOT LIVERPOOL FC WILL REMAIN AS ALSO RANS FOR YEARS TO COME. THE NEW STADIUM IS THE MOST IMPORTANT
ISSUE OUR CLUB FACES OVER THE NEXT COUPLE OF YEARS , THE LONGER IT REMAINS DELAYED THE MORE EXPENSIVE IT GETS.
Say the Stadium costs £350-400m.
£120-£150 of that can be raised from Naming Rights, Arsenal got 90m for 16 years naming rights from Emerates.Surely we could get 120m for 20 years worth.
Executive boxes are a club’s biggest source of audience revenue. A 10-seat box for each of Liverpool’s games with Arsenal, Chelsea and Manchester United costs £6,270. Anfield has just 32 boxes where Old Trafford has 197 suites and boxes. Can you see how were missing out on Revenue.
When Arsenal moved from Highbury to the Emirates they raised the number of boxes from 48 to 150. A season-long lease for one of those boxes costs £65,000. Arsenal have generated an extra 3.5m per game as a result, imagine that.
The Americans could still have raised the money had the club not had a shit-load of debt placed on its shoulders by the takeover. They have technicly bought our club without paying a penny of there own money.
The Royal Bank of Scotland has loaned £365 million to their company Kop Holdings, whose only asset is Liverpool FC. It’s a sub-prime loan.
The impact is already being felt. The North-West Development Agency have already withdrawn a £9 million grant for redevelopment of Stanley Park “because there was no detailed evidence funds were in place.
Liverpool generate roughly £50 million per season less than rivals Arsenal and Manchester United in terms of match-day earnings.
Obviously, Anfield is a significantly smaller ground than Old Trafford or the Emirates, which means smaller gate receipts, but even more significant is the discrepancy in match-day earnings from executive boxes; Manchester United have 197, Arsenal 150 and Liverpool only 32.
Arsenal provide the perfect illustration of just how beneficial it can be to move into a modern, purpose-built stadium. When they moved from Highbury to the Emirates in 2006 they increased their number of boxes from 48 to 150. Match-day revenue promptly shot up 105 per cent, the £3.1 million generated per game more than double the profit at Highbury.
No wonder Liverpool are so keen to get the ball rolling – you can’t write off £50 million per season and expect to stay competitive.
I appeal to you guys to slate these American Scumbags at every opportunity, Rouman can't something be done re a mass protest ? Enough is Enough we need to force them into selling. Sorry to get so emotional about this but you guys know I'm right.
eddie888
i am wating to hear from friends, as i heard there will be protests. the problem with the yanks is they can,t borrow the money,it is there because they are in so much debt. we all need to do what we can ,ie on othersites, everyone knows while those 2 cowboys are in charge were going backwards..now is the timeYANKS OUT...
Tony...
Hey mate, what has happened of the forum formating? Why is it looking like a long column leaving lots of space o the right side instead of looking like a proper paragragh?
What has happened of the inbox and the possibility to write to other users of this website?
