Can stay at Charlton or Spurs can have him, if we are going to spend that much money on a striker why not go for someone like Owen?

I think you and all the other dreamers should forget about 'we need Eto'o ' because it has been obvious for sometime now that he is not leaving Barcelona for anybody. He has been talking about who he would like to be playing alongside at Barce not what teams he likes or wishes he could play for. What happened at the club a few months ago seems to have been resolved now so he should be there until the end of his contract if not longer

ckane i think , your wrong on eto. he might want to stay, but barca want to sell either him or big teeth. they need to builld for next year afew will be leaving . and eto is at ends, with big teeth, and mesi. plus the manager is not to happy with eto either. in spain at the moment he is the favorite to go. and eto has said or his agent, if he does leave it will b e for the prem. so i think. i will not dissmiss, yet.

not worth the money. owen any day. bent is no better than we have. rafa do not waste your money on bent,he is worth no more than 5mil.

To Bent or not to bend for Bent
He's a proven premiership goal scorer for a couple years running. He did this with a lowly team.
He's turned down a 75k a week contract and wants an LFC move.
C'mon guys you are being naughty! He has a good aptitude in the ground (no moaning!), hard working and strong physique.
The price was not set by him, it was set by West Ham! If West Ham moves for Bellamy we should have enough money to buy him.
We need two proven strikers, Bent would do nicely for the premiership and I think the other would be Tevez. Inter who were most interested in him have just bought Suazo as a striker, could be he's also moving to LFC to join his friend Mascherano and the other Argies - by the way all Spanish speaking.
SG and Carra will have to take Spanish lessons - asta la vista amigos!
Tevez instead of Bent
Id rather we offered 17mil and Bellamy for Tevez, instead of trying to get Darren Bent. In the past we have made signings who may help us get better, but we still are not competing for the title, and that's where we need to be, and Bent isnt the man to help us get there
We need both of the same kind
There is no guarantee that a striker who excelled elsewhere will succeed in the Premiership.
We had the classic example of our Morientes. When he moved to LFC all hailed Rafa but in the end he was flopped out, strangely to triumph again with Valencia.
We have another classic example with Dirk Kuyt, a prolific goal scorer in the Erdevise but did not make the desired impact with us (although it the kind of player I like very much because he has the mould of SG, hardworking all rounder).
We need a classic striker with strong physique that can withstand tackling and pressing.
Darren has that physique is hard working - in the mould of Drogba. Don't forget that Darren made all this at Charlton and not at any of the first ten clubs.
We then need a Tevez for our international prestige and games. I believe though that Teves lacks the aerial prowess that Bent can prove.
We have lost many games last year because we did not capitalise on scoring from set pieces, CORNERS!!!! I think we are the team that were awarded most corners, yet we are rarely dangerous at these.
Sadly too SG was not firing on all cyclinders last season.
If Dean Ashton was not injured I would love to have him over!

yeah.. u are right..we need both of them...but money is not enough...17 million + Bellamy for tevez seems to be the best option..anyway we still have crouch for the aerial power...the question is do we have wingers good enough to provide him good crosses??
And now that Alonso has sign..its more worse..can't expect the liverpool game to change much, we gonna play same crappy football as last year...we'll have as always..Alonso and mascherano/sissoko in central midfield and gerrard put on the right flank..so no great improvement.

He' a person who knows what a striker should look like....
Apart from striking abilities Darren has a lot of character both on and off the pitch and that enhances the club's reputation (unlike Bellamy's)
Bent
Bent is a huge player in the penalty box.. He had the reputation as a captain during his days in Charlton... worth buying him coz he may b converting goals that Crouch or Kuty failed...

obvious he is leaving arsenal, why not sell bellamy to w ham for 10-12 mil, use that and 10 mil of our US dollars? he would, in my opinion, be the best acquisition by far. 1.wants to play for us 2.consistantly banging goals in the prem 3.great attitude 4.available, due to david dein situation.

Trophyless season with Bent
I think buying Bent means another season without being premiership contenders,Chelsea have Drogba,Arsenal have Henry,Man utd have Rooney,we need a player of their quality or we're in for another 3rd place finish,we have the money,we have to use it wisely!!!

Tony how can West ham sell us Tevez when they don't even own the player ??? Would you swap Tevez for Bellamy and cash ??
Bent has got a great goal scoring record at a small team like Chartlon and he knows the prem. I sometimes think if he was some south American called 'Bentaldinho' playing in La liga many fans would be calling his praises.
Forget where he comes from he gets goals .. yes it would be nice to get bent and Torres in a perfect world but if Bent were to come to LFC you can say with reasonable assurance 18-20 goals a season. Those extra goals combined with our solid defense should ensure we get a top four finish next season.
Top 4?
I think as it is we're a top four side,but we are sick of being just a top four side and with Bent we'll remain just a top four side,what we need is a striker that can help us challenge for the title and Bent definately isnt that player

tyron26, nice to hear from you.i know you like bent, i know were your comming from with south american names. but honestly mate, bent wont help us. 18 to 20 goals not from bent. we need a striker that stays in the middle. bent plays to wide, he is a ok player but not liverpool class. we have enough ok players we need class. but we do need to bring , some youngsters though. instead of buying for the sake of buying. if it meant, a choice between anelka, and bent . i would chose the latter. they bolton want cisse, why not swop. bent spurs awaits you.

Rafa, please bid as much as u could to get Daniel Alves. if we have Alves in our team, we can use him as right back or wing.he is a very good player n please keep Sissoko in the team...he is a very good ball winner better than alonso...Please try to bid for ricardo quaresma...he is better than Cristiano ronaldo....try to buy him....
