we've improved
in 2005 we thought it was a dream to have won the CL. in 2007 we should have won it and expectation was higher. if we get in the right players , in a year or two the glory days will be back big time
I'm worried about Gerrard
I belive Gerrard should be sold. He wasn't good in this year and I'm afraid he will be worse next year. He was suppose to score in the final that chance...I belive Rafa should do something about it..what you say folks?

Getmike - are you effing crazy??? How many times has Stevie G. sacked up and threw the team on his back and carried them to glory??? Just because Dida made a great save in the CL Final...is hardly a reason to sell our captain! Rafa is going to do something about it ---- we've got $100million to spend this offseason and we're going to bring in the right players who will only make Stevie G. better! Now take your head out of your ass and never speak of this again!

I've watched the entire match more than once by now, but for what you refer to as a great save from Dida I only see a weak shot by Gerrard, though I don't blame him for that as he has had the ball rather on his left foot.

NEVER! He did loose some form after the world cup. Insignificant petty side shows like England internationals can have an influence a players form . He remains a class player and a great captain.

Parry & Benitez Dispute
The quality broadsheet press are reporting a rift between Parry and Rafeal Benitez. Bentitez is reported as frustrated by the support in the transfer market that Man U for example have been provided with. It is also reported that Benitez is highly frustrated with the prolonged time we take to complete deals.
I totally agree on both counts. Whilst we have lacked funds in the past, we must now add great quality to the squad in key positions. We must also act far more swiftly and ruthlessly in the transfer martket!
Rafeal Benitez remains an excellent manager, a superb tactcian and deserves our support and the full backing of the Board in acting QUICKLY! within the transfer market.
We must also retain the quality we have (Never again a Lari Litmanen situation - how did we let so much talent go?)

i do not know what world you are on getmike as you are obviousley not on this world. stevie g is one of the best midfielders in the world and i think he will do better next season as there is a lot of competion for midfield. i agree on he hasnt been in his best of forms BUT he has still been one of are best players.

Gerrard is an intricate part of Liverpool football club. I don't see how people can blame him for the team not winning anything. You could blame him to a certain extent but what about our pitiful strike force, their only job is to score goals and they didn't do it enough, simple as that

Wow!!!! was that meant to be a tongue in check comment because it wasn't very well executed!
Back to common sense debate and it centers on the issue of Rafas comments. Jeez the Spaniard really is sic of Parry and having his ability questioned!! Rafa was quoted as saying we were only in the Champions league final because it was a knock out competition and that after three years in charge our league position was just not good enough! He sights the reasons as a lack of funds and to an extent he's right but there is no getting around the fact that as a coach he is more tactically minded as well as defensive!! That doesn't attract the top players that we require so it's not just been a lack of funds. Eto doesn't leave the wizardry of Messi / Deco / Ronaldinho to link up with Crouch .. Khuyt .. Alonso and we all know it!! So it's a sticky situation!! Two wingers ... Quersma / Narni do they come to LFC to play the defensive game of zonal marking and playing the long ball or do they go for the Hollywood ball of Real.. Inter ... Barca ... Arsenal ???

Parry must be sacked
I have always said, even before Benitez arrived, that Rick Parry is an incompetent chief executive. It was his job to make money for the club through creative ideas in the merchandising etc.. and he failed miserably. He let Liverpool fall behind all of the big clubs. Why were we the last in the Premiership to even launch a website for the club?
Luis Figo would have signed for Liverpool in 2005 but the vibes he got from Anfield was they weren't desperate to get him. Rick Parry is to blame for slow transfer deals. It is he who represents the club.
The man is incompetent and Benitez has said as much politely before. He must be sacked and a man with skill and professionalism must be installed. Parry is too slow and has no urgency to get deals done. How long did he take to find investment and yet in the end they even ditched the Dubai guys and took on Americans.

These are the players Im sure are leaving , but gonzalez still baffles me to be honest..why make such a big deal getting him when we're going to sell him after one season..the lad played well and showed potential.Id prefer if he stayed ..he is still young after all.

Ok veronin is coming instead of robbie fowler if im not mistaken..and we are talking about getting another striker ..who will our unknown striker play instead of ?? Where is cisse going ..Most people here dont want him to stay ..but in all fairness he was a better sub than bellamy...remember the super cup ??
Lucas leiva ..ok this lad is supposed to be a wonder kid...in the region of kaka and tevez...thats yet to be proven and hopefully he will shine...but the real question is ..who is he coming instead of ?? We cant say zended because zenden was more of a left sided player while this lad is placed in the middle..so that leaves momo and alonso and mascherano...I left gerrard out coz its kinda stupid to even think of letting him go!!.So would alonso and mascherano..so that leaves momo ...which i would prefer to leave other than the rest.
Where are we going to get the "realistic" world class players? Eto ?? Someone said that eto has claimed he doesnt want to leave.Villa ?? Are we ready to pay 40+ million for him ? would the chairmen allow it ? lets be honest and talk about how realistic Gillet and Hicks are in the transfer market.People start buying now before anybody else shows intrest..look at spurs ..they swooped in for Bale before anybody else.
There are no tournaments and know major matches to be played from now till the start of the 2007-2008 season..if the board are really going to fill Rafas wallet ..they should do so now and rafa should start shopping...we need a forward so that should be our main target.
Something should be said or done after the bank holiday..if not expect another season of not so world class players....Im hoping not i really am..cant go through more heartache.
totally gutted
just got back from athens, to realise what happend over there in full. i never seen any trouble, (apart from the odd crate of beer being pinched) but it did strike me why again uefa picked another stadium without turnstiles, ataturk was the same, we got in 2hrs before kick off, and it was busy outside it was tense but never struck me as being dangerous. f@@ckin gutted. can i also add i had genuine ticket cos i had 6 home an 3 away on my fancard.
