Are we gonna play Stevie G on the right again??
With the arrival of Keane, its more than clear than he'll be the one playing behind Torres. i don't think Rafa will be allowed to rest Keane or play him in rotation with torres after paying such an enormous sum of 19 millions for his acquisition..
And with us still chasing Barry, which i hope we succeed in concluding the deal, we'll already have Barry and Mascherano in midfield, so the only gap remainig is the right of midfield where gerrard played two years ago.
Will Rafa shift him again on the wing, allowing gerrard to roam all around the field, sending superb crosses and scoring goals???
If we succeed in landing barry that will be the best option rather than going out for a cheap uncompetent winger or playing Dirk shyt/penant on the wing.
So, what's your opinions guys?
4-4-2, with Babel-Gerrard on the wings, Mascherano-Barry in the middle, and keane-torres upfront, meaning that we'll have 5 out of 6 players upfront who knows how to score goals.
Kuyt/Pennant/Alonso/voronin..all need to be sent to learn how to score goals in the premier league!!
Of course, after spending 20million on Keane, he needs to be regularly playing upfront with Torres. the attacking line up i would like to see next season would be...

Hopefully, along with Barry, we can sign another good, well priced player who can play on the wings

I'm all for Stevie G on the right, he had his best ever season for the club playing out there, I reckon it's his best position.
I hope we get Barry to give Balance to the side along with some fight and ten goals a season.I expect Babel to progress this year and Bennyoun could have a part to play if he ups his consistancy levels.
My best line up would be
Reinna
Arbeloa Carragher Agger Dosenna
Mascherano
Gerrard Barry Babel
Keane Torres
I also want Benitez to stop rotating the team our strongest Elevan with Skrtel Degen Bennyoun and Lucas as back up can beat anyone and can only get better playing together week in week out.
That said we will be without Babel Mascherano and Lucas whilst the Olypics are on, a good start to the season is all important, plus I can see our home form improving lets see fortress Anfield reinstalled.
I would sell Alonso Pennant Kuyt and Voronin, none of whom have the slightest idea of scoring and are all very average players, I would also promote Nemeth Insua Ngog Darby and Spearing to the bench and First team training. Buying Keane is a good move in my book and I think he will provide a number of goals for Torres. Getting Barry should remain a priority, hopefully Blackburn will sign Pennant, and Hamburg Voronin which will give Benitez 10m towards his fee, the only thing we lack is a winger but Stevie G does play extremely well out on the right so we may not need one.
If we get Barry the team will be a big improvement on last year, butwe still have a fair ammount of dross to get rid off , as Ive allready said Alonso, Pennant Voronin Aurelio and Kuyt all need to go.
Am glad about your views, But i think we may still need to keep Aurelio as back up, we have only Dossena, and if he is injured its gona be problematic just like what happened by the end of last season.. I want Insua to play there, but do't thik he can cope with 90 minutes in the EPL, have seen him played, he is just like Babel.. Not strong enouth physically.
And as much as i hate kuyt, and i want him out of the club, i don't think Rafa will sell him so soon, yet i agree with Rafa that he has a great role to play in champions league, i don'tknow why, but he is one of our best performers in Champions league and our worst performer in EPL..such a mystery!!
i recall sg saying ages ago that he prefers playing in midfield & not on the wings.me 2 again i hope rafa DOES NOT rotate this season i hope he has learnt his lesson last season by becoming 4th JUST & just 2 finnish off im glad we have bought keane 2 help torres but all we need now is rafa 2 get that money & stop playing abt & get the deal done 4 barry or some1 else will snap him up
cant wait 4 the new season 2 start come on reds start making us all sing out loud again
