ONE UP FRONT
I AM NOT A FAN OF PLAYING ONE UP FRONT, BUT HAVE TO ADMIT THAT SINCE WEVE STARTED PLAYING IT WE HAVE DONE WELL.
I CAN UNDERSTAND BENITEZ'S THINKING BECAUSE KUYT AND VORONIN ARE CRAP AND ARE INCAPABLE OF FORMING A PARTNERSHIP WITH TORRES(THEY ARE THE LAUREL & HARDY OF THE PREMIERSHIP), AND ARE CLUELESS IN FRONT OF GOAL.
CROUCH IS CAPABLE, BUT SOME SOME REASON APPEARS TO HAVE FALLEN OUT WITH BENITEZ ?
PLAYING ONE UP FRONT TO MY MIND IS A FAIRLY NEGATIVE TACTIC , BUT APPEARS TO SUIT THE PLAYERS WEVE GOT. SHOULD WE CONTINUE WITH THIS TACTIC NEXT SEASON ? WILL IT BRING US SUCCESS ?
I'D PREFER TO HAVE TWO TOP QUALITY STRIKERS ? WITH GERRARD REMAINING IN HIS ADVANCED ROLE.
WHAT ARE YOUR THOUGHTS ?
i think we would be better off with 2 upfront leave sg where he likes best but i would like 2c henry(if we get him)upfront with torres i thought that was funny when u said kuyt & veronin was like the laurel & hardy duo hahahahaha torres is a very cool player but rafa needs 2 understand that he cant always rely on him we need henry asap 2 help him out now that would be a dream come true 4 sg eh?
we need crouch to play with torres,at home we need to score . because arse have nothink to lose, so they will be going for the jugular. and my nerves won,t stand a whole game of defending. crouch deserves his chance, arse fear him. yet kuyt, will play.as for henry i would love him here at liverpool. what a signing that would be..
Putting Torres alone up front in the second leg could bring on our downfall!90 minutes of defending against an attacking side with nothing to lose is seriously risky
This game should be treated as a must score/must win game,if he sets the team out to get 0-0 and we concede early I worry about where an equaliser will come from.4-4-2 on the other hand with Crouch up front with Torres would be seriously effective,if Arsenal have the height of Crouch and the pace of Torres to worry about at the same time it will seriously affect the amount of players they can send forward
Regardless of how he sets the team out though,heres to a Liverpool V Fenerbahce semi final!
