Recent comments about babel and lucas among others being played out of position is getting to me. Babel is doing a decent job on the wing, reason he is their is we dont have anyone else to play who has the same effect. Lucas was rightly said by someone to be playing a holding midfield role as mascherano is out against the toffees but we have stevie who plays the free flowing attacking role. Critising rafa for using players in different positions is daft. he is doing a job with the players available. You have to find a balance in the team, if we played lucas as an attacking midfielder who would you want to defend - STEVIE? i think not.
Who is better than babel on the left flank? riise auerillo KEWELL? i think not. kuyt is played on the right flank and isnt getting goals but is being effective yet he is still getting crap, who do you want out there, pennant gerrard finnan? i again think not.
All fair and well critising players and rafa but need to think about what were saying before we do. if we had a decent r/winger or another 20 a season striker then rafa would play them, we dont so how can he, therefore why are people critising him for playing his best options in that position? I would love to see babel upfront with torres but he is really as part of a 3 man attack, and if he reverted to a 4-4-2 who plays left wing? its about a balance as i said until rafa gets few more quality players, anyone can see we are not far away, he is cautious but you have to be when you dont have the best quality, gung ho is great to watch and lovely football is a pleasure to see however ask pompey and newcastle or spurs or westham if they would change there style for our sucess, answer would be YES.
