Just recently ( since taylors tackle on Edwardo) referees seem to be clamping down on all tackling. I think the FA and Referees are over reacting. Tackling is an art but the way in which referees are clamping down makes you wonder if it is a dying art. Whats wrong with a bit of physical contact ? are the lawmakers trying to do away with tacles alltogether ? There are too many yellow cards and red cards being handed out, yet serious tackles such as Rooney's recent rash challenge and Ashley Coles against Spurs go unpunished ( he did get a yellow card but it sould have ben red ). Referees are under pressure from the lawmakers to hand out red and yellow cards that just shouldnt be given in te first place, Why ?
