Xabis recent decline in form since his injuries is worrying. The effect on the team has been effectivly hidden/covered over by the emergence of mascherano, however xabis form is worrying. He was and must be still one of the best midfielders in europe, what to do with him, if he is offloaded he will no doubt find his form and become the bedrock for Barca or Real Madrid next season. I for one want him to stay, we do have lucas however time must be given to xabi to find his feet. Would we off load stevie if his form was bad for 1/2 season, of course not. I dont believe in keeping players for sentimental purposes thats why i agreed it was time for robbie to move on. But xabi is 26-27 still not in his prime, he is a fit lad who only recently has been suffering from injuries. with euro games coming up i wouldnt risk out of form players so would play mascherano and gerrard tomorrow however xabi must be given games to see if he can at least show signs of recovery. I wasnt sad to see momo leave, it was best for everyone but xabis decline could leave us short if more injurys were to happen. In the past he was always able to carry the team if gerrard was rested or injured but now we are a bit short if it happens. Xabi was rated at 20million begining of the season and last 1 so what the hell is going on?

I have never seen Alonso play well for LFC, he may have had some good moments but never consistently outstanding. I am not a great fan of his style of football and I think we would be better off without him.

Aggar and Mascharano on the otherhand, have performed well for us and I think in time, they will settle in and prove to be a good investment.

no way is alonso are best midfielder he is are third best behind gerrard and mascherano, these two are consistently excellent and are a great partnership, alonso is a very good player and i would def keep him, his style of play means that he could play well into his 30s with no problems even in the prem, he has little pace now so that shouldn't decline much, to be honest i think thats his biggest weakness he is a very good player now but if you gave him pace he would be amazing
