CORNERS FREE KICKS AND CROSSES

CORNERS FREE KICKS AND CROSSES

The quality of our corners free kicks and crosses is very very poor. How many times do we see our corners free kicks and crosses fail to pass the first defender ? do we practice these fundementals in training ? because if the evidence on the pitch is anythig to go by then we need o practice a hell of a lot more. Am I right or am I wrong ? Set plays win matches, Chelsea are superb on free kicks and corners Arsenal and Manchester United ae not far behind, We rarely get the ball over and when we do we rarely attack the ball wih any confidence, We should be doing a hell of a lot better and should be scoring more from these positions.

Thats what i said eddie..

We have the worst traininf staff, i wonder what they do with the players in training session, we were craps even when Paco was here, so don't come telling me its his departure that brought us in this situation.
In almost every game we get so many corners and free kicks which goes wasted...what the fuck do they do in training!!!!
Rafa has certainly got some wrong people surrouning him, especially that pigshit who is the technical analyst, he is the one providing wrong statistics to the manager, from the Press box everybody can see the misfits, but this spaniard who don't understand english is the first culprit of the fans.

Total agreement

I watched the game from Australia, but wherever you watched it from seems always the same, we are absolutely hopeless crossers of the ball. Steve Finnam seemed to have a good game but he CANNOT cross a ball and neither lately can Pennant. To my mind not much good bringing on Crouch for his height if no-one can give the ball some air to get to him. And whilst we are on the subject of crossing the ball, I feel we waste Stevie G by letting him take the corners. Would he not be better placed to roam the edge of the box for a knock down?

Harsh but true

Despite today’s win I still maintain that tinkerman had it all wrong yet again, and had we lost everyone here would have descended on him like a ton of bricks. We played against 10 for most of the game and the 2 goals we scored were almost accidental. Its as if the brief is for every player to take as many shot as possible in the hope that one of those will hit the target. There was no well constructed moves except for the ball down the middle to Torres which he missed. The rest appeared haphazardous and aimless. I cant expect us to go past the next stage with this squad I am sad to say.

We don't have the worst staff. its the Staff that has the worst manager. Rafa hears and sees everything you and I do and more. His decisions are very well informed but badly judged.

i think. corners from

i think. corners from Gerrard, crosses from Pennant, Aurelio and Finnan, Free-kick from Gerrard or Alonso.

Disagree partially..

Rafa base himself mostly on statistics, look at his defence for Dirk Shyt you will notice he always make allusion to the statistics.. its that guy who make thoses catastrophic statistics that should be thrown out first, saw an interview of him on the club official website last month.
We also seem to be having a technical coach without idea, i wonder if he has ever played football or watch other teams play real football, even the kids play better football than what our players are playing nowadays..just look at barnsley, they were quick with the ball, passing and running, dribbling..BUT our players just stand in one place and pass the ball backward instead of improvising to go forward...Only Torres, gerrard, babel, mascherano and benayoun really do something creative when they have the ball.
We really need to improve the training session and start to take our chances from corners and free kicks...don't just aim at peter crouch, we need to try using other tactics and players in those situations..
Can anybody please write that on the melwood wall for me ;)
Tell benitez to start doing better with freekicks and corners.
In the weekend fans wrote there not to use Riise and Kewell for the milan match and he listened to them... Please somebody go to write this bit also.

IF I WAS TRAINING THIS SQUAD

If I were training this squad , I would have every one of them doing Two sessions a day everyday.

I would have Gerrard Bennyoun and Babel Finnan Kewell praticing free kicks and corners time and time again unti they got things right.

Finnan and Pennant Bennyoun and Babel practicing crosses.
Hypia Carragher Skrtel Agger Torres and Couch practicing getting on the end of these corners crosses and free kicks.

Carragher and Riise learnng how to play the ball out from defence rather than hoof the ball upfield.

Crouch learning how to head the ball correctly, Babel taught how to take the man on and beat him, plus shown how to keep his shots down.

Kuyt well I think i'd be out on the training pitch till midnight every night showing him exactly where the goal is and how to shoot on goal , plus explain that he should be in the 6 yard box rather than over by the corner flag.

Kewell I would show him how to break sweat and Riise would Be shown how to keep the ball from hitting low flying aircraft.

Seriously are our training staff doing these things because it sure as hell doesnt look like it , these training exersizes are Basic skills, yet so many of our players seem to lack them. It does make you question what they actually do in training?

Alex miller and Angel vales..

these are the two names who are degrading our players day by day and providing wrong statistics to the manager..we should get rid of them first before getting rid of misfits like kuyt, kewell, riise, aurelio, penant

REALISTICALLY SPEAKING

I cant accept that Benitez relies on stats and charts only. He is there on the pitch every week, he sees firsthand his handy work, he also reads the papers, does media interviews, talks with his players, surfs the web...etc. In other words He is not the poor misguided victim here, on the contrary he is the culprit. It is UNREALISTIC to lay the blame on the Yanks, Pako, the trainers, the weather and bad luck but never on Rafa.

REALISTICALLY, Wegner and Ferguson turned around their respective clubs. The changes they made appeared to be working, results were getting better and form was improving and that is all we ask of Benitez. Instead, after four years he delivers the worst results and a team that lacks form, talent and above all the will to win.

Make no mistake, If the Yanks didn’t have the club up for sale, they would have sacked Benitez a long time a go and if DIC end up buying the club Rafa will not last more than three months. This is nothing short a total disaster and must be resolved for the good of LFC.
