With so many players under achieving this Season , who do you think we should sell this Summer ? I think We need to have a serious clearout I honestly believe far too many players have been tossing it off, I am being scathing with my list of not good enoughs, I would hope Benitez ( if he stays ) or a New Manager has the balls to get rid of al the dead wood , this is my list of players for the chop -
Carson - says He wants to play for Villa which is a good enough reason to get rid of him Value 8-10m
Itandje - from what Ive seen He isnt good enough. Value £250,000
Riise - hasn't played well for about Two years now definately one for the chop Value 5-6m
Auriio - hasnt produced a thing for us since signing waste of space Value 1-2m
Alonso - hasnt done much for Two seasons now, has been hard done by and injury hasnt helped, but I feel we should cash in as we have too many midfield players , Alonso should have done better for us but the reality is he hasn't, so we should cash in on him now Value 12-15m
Guthrie - Never given a chance to shine , has done well at Bolton and has said he would like to stay with them, in that case let him Value 5m
Kewell - has never achieved anything for us due to injury after injury , his best days are long gone , his contract expires at the end of the season and we would be mad to offer him another one considering he earns £60,000 a week. Value Free
Pennant - has flattered to decieve ever since he arrived for 6m , an ok player but unfortunately that is all he will ever be Value 5m
Kuyt - a real waste of money 9m was spent on this guy , what have we got in return - nothing Value 3-5m - best used as part of an exchange deal to negate loss in value.
Voronin - the only saving grace is that he cost us nothing ( unlike Kuyt ) therefore he owes us nothing Value 2m or use as part of a exchange deal
Crouch - hasnt really been given muc chance this season, but is he really up to the task of scoring 20 + goals a season ? I think not therefore We should cash in now Value 10-12M
I would also look to sell Leto 3m Bennyoun 6m Hobbs 4m if a decent offer came in , none of these three players will ever set the world on fire Benyoun is ok but again ok isnt good enough, We need better than ok.
The players listed above would bring in combined transfer fees in the region of 45-50m which should be used to buy a top quality striker and a top quality winger. Insua should be installed permanantly as ou left back Mascherano should be sign on a permanant deal and Anderson should be brought back from Swansea and given a chance, We should also be looking at giving Nemeth a go up front , he has shown real promise in the Reserves and deserves a chance.
ONLY WHN WE RID THE TEAM OF THESE UNDER ACHIEVERS WILL THS TEAM START TO GO FORWARD UNFORTUNATELY OUR TEAM IS FULL OF NOT GOOD ENOUGHS,WE HAVE FAR TOO MANY OF THEM, THEY NEED TO BE SHOWN THE DOOR AND REPLACED BY PLAYERS THAT ARE GOOD ENOUGH, I'D RATHER WE BOUGHT 2 OR 3 WORLD CLASS PLAYERS THAN 5 OR 6 AVERAGE ONES , ONE OF OUR BIGGEST PROBLEMS UNDER BENITEZ HAS BEEN THE QUALITY OF THE PLAYERS SIGNED.

Selling 6 means bringing in 5 or 6 and if you want to challenge for the title next season we can't have wholesale changes and expect them to gel immediately.
What is crucial is that 3 of the new players to walk into the first 11 and command a regular spot.
Also that players like Riise are coached back into their best form.

Bring forward some of the youth team lads and give them a genuine chance, not just one or two games every few months.

Selling 6 doesnt mean We have to buy in Six I'd rather We bought 3 top class players and looked to progress 2 or 3 of our top quality young players sitting in our Reserves.
The trouble with your signings 1red1pool is that all you doing is replacing not good enoughs with other not good enoughs. Bridge ( is he really any good ? ), Owen( hasnt done a thing at Newcastle ) , Gudjohnson ( hasnt done a thing at Barcelona ) these are all past there sell by date players, and I disagree WE DO NEED WHOLESALE CHANGES.
Why try and nurse Riise back to form ? He hasnt done a thing for Two years . We need to stop namby pambying around.
Our team needs a complete overhaul if there not good enough then sorry we need to get rid of them, and buying more of the same makes having that clear out totally pointless.

The players I listed are based on our current financial situation. We can all dream of who we'd like, but with our finances you can't have wish list - you can only buy players for the money you have. The guys I listed are all within our financial grasp even now.
If DIC buy us before next season and pump in money then I agree, we can buy players who cost a lot more.
But any manager taking over in the summer might not have any more money than Benitez has had, in which case we cannot afford top class wholesale changes. So you have to work with what you have and buy players of proven quality who can do a job.
Thierry Henry is poor at Barce too but who'd right him off? Owen is still a quality player; but no one woould do much at Newcastle. Bridge is 2nd only to Ashley Cole in the Prem.

60M IS MORE THAN ENOUGH TO BRING IN THREE TOP QUALITY INTERNATIONAL CLASS PLAYERS.
I WOULD BE LOOKING AT ETO 25 - 30M AS THE STRIKER ( PERHAPS DROGBA 25M IF MOURINHIO BECAME OUR MANAGER ), QUARESESMA 15M AS THE WINGER AND ONE OTHER DAVID BENTLEY 15M PERHAPS, I WOULD THEN PROMOTE INSUA TO THE FIRST TEAM ( HE SHOULD BE PLAYING ALLREADY , HE IS THE BEST LEFT FULL BACK AT THE CLUB BY A MILE ) WE DON'T NEED TO STRENGHTEN OUR DEFENCE ( WITH THE EXCEPTION OF A LEFT BACK ) OR MIDFIELD. BUT WE DESPERATELY NEED A WINGER AND A TOP QUALITY GOALSCORER TO PLAY ALONGSIDE TORRES.
AS I'VE SAID PLAYERS LIKE OWEN AND GUDJOHNSON ARE PAST IT , THEY ARE FADING STARS GOING DOWNHILL FAST, BRIDGE IS OK BUT WE DON'T NEED HIM INSUA IS THAT GOOD.
WE NEED TOP QUALITY PLAYERS COSTING 20M EACH , YOU GET WHAT YOU PAY FOR AND WE NEED TO WAKE UP TO THAT FACT. CLASS IS PERMANENT AND COSTS MONEY , TORRES IS AN PRIME EXAMPLE.
WHAT WE NEED TO DO IS SEL AL THE UNDERACHIVERS AND BUY THREE TOP QUALITY INTERNATIONAL CLASS PLAYERS, THEN ADD TO THE SQUAD BY INCLUDING OUR BEST YOUNGSTERS. BUYING ADITIONAL HAS BEENS WILL GET US NOWHERE.YOUNGSTERS LIKE INSUA, ANDERSON AND NEMETH COULD END UP SAVING US A FORTUNE.

It's true Eddie selling all those players would generate cash. And if I was manager I might do exactly as you said. It does make sense and I have said for a long time Benitez has wasted money on quantity rather than quality.
But my one worry would be you do need a squad to win the title. ManUre and Chelski have big squads of experienced players. I wouldn't rotate like the tinkerman but if we sold all the players you listed and only bought 3 stars then that means a lot if inexperienced youngsters would have to make up the squad and you are taking a big risk that they will handle the demands required.
But I suppose if you offered me Eto'o, Quaresma and another star for all those turnips you mentioned then I would find it hard to say no. Our 1st team would be far superior, but if we were hit with injuries to a few of the stars how would we do?

HAVE SOME FAITH IN THE YOUNGSTERS - ARSENAL DO AND LOOK WHERE ITS GOT THEM, I ADMIT IF WE DID AS I SAY AND GET RID OF ALL THE SHITE , IT MAY LEAVE US A BIT STRECTHED, BUT AT LEAST WEVE GOT RID OF ALL THE SHITE. WHY SHOULD WE KEEP SHITE ? WHAT PURPOSE DOES IT CAUSE ? SHITE IS SHITE IS SHITE AND WEVE GOT IT BY THE BUCKET LOAD.
ONE THING YOUNG PLAYERS BRING IS ENTHUSIASM , AND 100% EFFORT WHICH IS MORE THAN CAN BE SAID FOR A NUMBER OF THE UNDER ACHIEVERS CURRENTLY PLAYING AT THE CLUB, ( I'VE YET TO SEE KEWELL BREAK SWEAT THIS SEASON ).
WE HAVE SOME VERY PROMISSING YOUNG PLAYERS AND IT'S ABOUT TIME THAT THEY WERE GIVEN A CHANCE TO SHOW US JUST HOW GOOD THEY ACTUALLY ARE.
WE HAVNT GOT ANYTHING TO LOSE BY GIVING THESE GUYS A CHANCE, WE ONLY NEED ONE OF THEM TO MAKE IT TO PROVE GIVING THEM A CHANCE WORTHWHILE. INSUA NEMETH ANDERSON EL ZHAR SPEARING , I'D RATHER HAVE THESE GUYS IN MY FIRST TEAM SQUAD THAN KUYT VORONIN KEWELL AND AURILIO.SURELY THIS HAS TO BE A STEP IN THE RIGHT DIRECTION ?
