RIISE SAYS HE WANTS TO STAY AT LIVERPOOL - SHOULD HE STAY OR SHOULD HE GO ?

J A R SAYS HE WANTS TO FINISH HIS CAREER AT ANFIELD, SHOULD HE BE OFFERED A NEW CONTRACT OR SOLD IN THE SUMMER ? HIS FORM THIS SEASON HAS BEEN DISSAPOINTING, EQUALLY AURILIO HAS PLAYED POORLY AS WELL. LEFT BACK IS A PROBLEM POSITION , SO WHAT SHOULD WE DO STICK WITH RIISE OR SELL HIM TO THE HIGHEST BIDDER ?, IF THE NEWSPAPERS ARE TO BE BELIEVED NEWCASTLE AND VILLA ARE INTERESTED AND PREPARED TO PAY AROUND 5M.
I RECKON WE SHOULD SELL TO MY MIND OUR BEST LEFT BACK PLAYS IN THE RESERVES INSUA LOOKS A PLAYER WHO HAS WHAT IT TAKES, I RECKON J A R HAS LOST IT, I CANT DENY THAT HE HAS BEEN A GOOD PLAYER FOR US IN THE PAST , BUT FOR THE LAST TWO YEARS HIS PERFOMANCES HAVE BEEM HEADING DOWHILL. I SAY SELL, WHAT DO YOU GUYS THINK ?

risse

no keep him. i think he still can get his form back, he is better thanaurillo i even think he would do well in midfield. like you eddie mate, isuana should be in the squad

Riise

Riise has always been a bit of Rottweiler at the back but never did all that well up front. Apart form scoring with the occasional rocket, his passes are mostly inaccurate. I’d say as a left back he is worth keeping. We also need two new top notch wingers to replace Kewell and Pennant. Kewell has never regained his form (don’t know if he ever will) and Pennant has never been good enough especially against the top 3. He seems unable to follow through with fast runs. His stop start style is frustrating and always passing the ball back to midfield or defence. I think Crouch will shine as a striker if we find the wingers that can provide him with inch perfect passes instead of the usual barrage of strays.

Riise to stay

Keep him eddie, over the yrs he has been a steady player, he has lost form and i wouldnt keep him on sentiment alone, however he can reclaim his form and reclaim his following from the KOP so keep him. If we identify a left back in the summer and get him in then fair enough. but for now he is not on the top of my list for who should be shipped out. Sissoko had to go as we had mascherano and it makes little sense to keep him. with babel here, i agree kewell offers nothing now. so maybe if a youngster is coming through move him on. One of the forwards has to go. not for the money but for the space needed to play a regular partnership with torres. voronin or kuyt and if honest i would move them both on and keep crouch. only if a player like david villa comes though. What iam saying is a mass exordous is not needed. just a couple of players moved on. Finnan should stay, he isnt at the same level as 2yrs ago however he still offers prem class cover and can be used in many games. Carra is 30 next season and although him and agger would be my partnership for next season i feel a new world class centre half or a find like agger is needed to blood the team, so we arent in the shit come 2009-2010 when carra will retire, a new cen/half will already be there, ie when sami retired and agger moved in.
