ROTATION THE ROOT CAUSE - WE NEED TO PLAY OUR STRONGEST SIDE
I have said it a 1000 times, I will say it again, the root cause of most of our problems this season are as a result of Rafa's obsession with rotation.
There is nothing wrong with the occasional team change due to injury , tactics, loss of form , suspensions, even resting a player, but Benitez changes the team week in week out for what reason ?
The best way for us to get out of the mess we are in is to play our strongest team week in week out from now until the end of the season, that means no more Kuyt, no more Kewell, no more Voronin, and no more Riise.
To my mind the best team that we can play is : Reinna Finnan Carragher Hypia Arbeloa Pennant Mascherano Gerrard Bennyoun Torres Babel SUBS Crouch Lucas Skitel Alonso
If Benitez SELECTS THIS TEAM WITHOUT CHANGE till the end of the season AND ONLY USES THE PLAYERS LISTED We stand a real chance of getting Forth spot, IF HE CONTINUES TO ROTATE THE TEAM FOR ROTATIONS SAKE PLAYING THE LIKES OF KUYT KEWELL ECT THEN WE DONT STAND A CAT IN HELLS CHANCE OF DOING ANYTHING.
I have said consistantly on this site that Rafa's obsession with rotation would ultimately prove his downfall, I hate to say it but I was 100% right. All rotation has done is give players who shouldnt be in the team the chance to show us why the shouldnt be in the team.

your right mate, this has been the biggest problem we have had with rafa. if he played the same team week in and out, well who knows. maybey just maybey he has learned his lesson..
ROUMAN HE HASNT LEARNT THOUGH HAS HE ? HE KEEPS BUNGLING ALONG WEEK IN WEEK OUT 4 CHANGES 5 CHANGES WHY? WHAT IS IT WITH HIS OBSESSION FOR CHANGE ? WHAT IS IT THAT MAKES HIM SELECT KUYT EVERY GAME ? AND YET THEN COMPLAIN THAT WE FAIL TO TAKE OUR CHANCES, ONE LOOK AT THE STATS WOULD SHOW HIM 3 GOALS IN 20 PREMIERSHIP GAMES ? RAFA ISNT LEARNING HE IS ACTUALLY GETTING WORSE.
no he has not learned, yet but even players, like kenny, roy evans, are now talking abouy this. and even a stuborn man like him will have tro do somethink. i am wating to see what team he puts out on sat, i bet kuyt is,t playing, honestly mate the papers, and fans have slaughted him..
Benitez has had players the press ex managers telling him that rotation isnt working for months now , he just doesnt listen.Not having an assistant hasnt helped, but Rafa is too stubourn for his own good.
Re Kuyt yes they have slaughtered him but take a look at his recold 20 premiership games played 3 goals scored , two of which were penalties.
Kuyt isnt as bad as people make out , but the reality is he is suffering , he has no confidence and needs a spell in the reserves to regain his goalscoring touch.
Playing him in the first team in our current circumstances is suicidal both for the team and the player.
I wouldnt back a lame, blind 3 legged horse in the national and i doubt many on this site would, however rafa isnt that, he isnt usless and his record shows that. when the end of the season comes i will stand by any decision made by the fans and of course players and rafa himself, however until then this must stop.
Unless the ones calling for his head can state on this site a world class manager who is ready to step in right now 1/2/2008 - stop calling for the head of our club.
One point i will make is - if we played outright attacking football with the players we have we might be further down the league. Rafa does not have full confidence in his players from where i am sitting. the team is his now with a couple of exceptions but they arent performing. its not all down to the manager. Yes he has bought crap, but his record isnt as bad as people are now making out, mommo was a good buy at the time and everyone was saying so. Kuyt was untested however he came with a good record, again unforseable with his form. voronin was FREE.
Pennant was a good buy at the time, we all thought so and he had promise.
Who else is SHIT that rafa plays now. WHO- Babel torres mascherano alonso agger reina all these players we should be proud that our manager has brought into our club.
Personnaly i think the shit rafa has had to do his job in is disgracfull and a lesser man would of walk, thank your stars he isnt mourhino and sulked and walked. he has stood by us so how about a little respect and a little loyalty UNTILL THE END OF THE SEASON. if you cant manage that they you cant call yourselves LFC FANS. that is what we are built on.
stulivered to a degree you are right, but Rafa Benitez will be sacked at the end of the season that is a certainty.The bookies are nobody's fool and they have him at odds on , He is a dead man walking and I personally have little sympathy, He has made far too many mistakes. hIS OBSESSION WITH ROTATION BEING HIS BIGGEST.
What is needed now however is some consistancy of team selection, the only way out of our current crisis is to play our strongest team in every game. The players need to stand up and be counted as the old saying goes when the going gets tough the tough get going.
42YEARSON
Eddie 888 ...... absolutely spot-on
I want Rafa to stay but he has to stop rotating ....
however, I do think Riise's form will return when the team settles ....he seems to have suffered more than anyone .... except the fans!!
Team till end of season every game
Reina;
Finnan; Carragher; Hyypia/Agger; Arbeloa;
Pennant; Gerrard; Mascherano; Babel;
Torres; Benayoun
subs from Martin; Crouch; Lucas; Skrtel; Alonso; Riise
the rest are rubbish ... get rid
Why is it that some of us still insist on putting up with Benitez's incompetence is beyond me? Are we so afraid now to the degree that we'd rather sit quietly in a corner and curl up and die? It has been obvious for quite sometime now that our manager is not managing. His strategy for the present and the future direction of LFC is simply not what we the fans, the players and the owners expected from our glorious manager. When a ship sinks you can't blame the sailors nor can you blame the owners of the ship, the responsibility must fall squarely on the captain's shoulders.
Benitez (for all I know) may have the best credentials in the whole of the universe. The thing is at LFC it turned out to be not worth the paper its written on and produced devastating results.
Every match now is a struggle we've become more dependent on flukes or mistakes made by the opposition rather than on our own skills. Its like forcing a left-handed person to play with his right hand and win. Others may choose to nurture a left-handed person and use his unique abilities to his advantage.
The constant battering has left the players tired and morally drained, unwilling to give their best for a hopeless and an uncertain future. For us to have any hope of regaining 4th spot, we must change management and in this case it should not be so difficult to find someone a little better than the current one. We probably should not be looking abroad this time. I think a local will do a better job. What do you think guys?
the lASt point made by anony mous i agree with, forget a foreign manager, i think its vital we get a localsomeone who has played for liverpool, alan hansen has no managerial experience but he seems to know more about football and carre more about lfc than rafa does, why couldnt we beg king kenny, alan hansen, ian rush, johhn aldridge , john barnes, mark lawrenson to help us they feel the pain we fans feel, and which raffa obviously doesnt when we lose, its passion we need, love and pride for lfc backed up by a comprehensive knowledge of english football, defensive tactics, attacking tactics,and transfer acquisitions which im sure that collective of mentioned players would have....am i wrong??? i kno its wishful thinking and im dreaming and obviuosly deranged and crazy.but iknow a selection of that caliber of heavyweights would not be takin sh*t from the yanks, and would be backing up all their demands with solid results, titles and trophies.....
end note: do u think that yank who owns the mancs can tell fergie anything. fergies success means he get what he wants benitezs tactics guarantee he wont!!!!!!!!
unless its the sack!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Yes he must go,but not now.As much as benitez frustrates me,I dont believe now is the time to sack him.Torres went to the press when things started to look bad for us saying himself and other big name players would leave if Benitez got the sack,so obviously the players like him alot and sacking a manager they like would not solve many problems
However he must go during the summer,I have seen nothing to suggest the man is taking the club forward and I refuse to listen to anyone who suggests 05 proves what he's capable of,sure we look good under him in europe,but when it really matters to the fans in the man utd,chelsea,arsenal and everton games we constantly look average at best,under benitez we've done nothing in the games against man utd and chelsea,arsenal to suggest we're closing the gap,after 3 years it's time for a new manager to come in and show what we can acieve at our full potential
I don't believe for one moment that when Rafa gets the sack, there will be a mass exodus of players wanting to leave, in fact I wouldnt be suprised to see many of the players happy to see him go.
One or two of the Spanish contingent may speak out in support , but they are under contract and earn good wedge, so I cant see them leaving. I also have noticed that Steven Gerrard and Jamie Carragher have hardly come out and offered there full support now have they.
All this rotation has an adverse effect on the players, there have been times where the players must question some of Benitez's tactics,are you telling me Stevie G was happy when substituted against Everton ? do you think he was happy when told the reason for him being subbed was that he was trying too hard ?
How do you think Peter Crouch feels finding himself on the subs bench every week, He was our top scorer last season and yet is forced to watch The great running machine Kuyt play game after game.
Players wanting to leave if Benitez gets the sack is a myth made up by The in Rafa we trust brigade, still trying to come to terms with how bad there Manager actually is.
this is the main problem in liverpool, we need to put strongest team in every game in pitch because you all know we are 17 points under Man Utd, if we will continue like this we will fight only for Uefa Cup.
