Time to lay off the yanks
Right now I think I'm the only Liverpool fan in the world that doesnt hate the yanks.I agree what they done with Klinsmann was a horrible thing to do to Rafa but apart from that I dont see much else wrong
People keep suggesting their liars in terms of the promises they've made.How??Remember the 20 million we payed out for Torres would never have happened without them and had it not been for Torres we would be 10th or there abouts.They also gave over 13 million for babel,5 million for benayoun and benitez spent a good couple of million recruiting youngsters too.Our highest and second highest transfer records came in their first few months in charge,what the hell else can they do?
So along came the January transfer window and along came the infamous fall out between manager and owners,Benitez demands more money,they say concentrate on the team.Yanks out say the fans!!I dont understand!Benitez claimed the players he bought during the summer would mean we could challenge for the league,4-5 months on and it was clear that wasnt the case so Benitez went knocking for more money,the guy spent 13.5 million on babel and we barely see him,I agree with the yanks maybe if Rafa spent more time pickin the right players than whinging for money we would'nt be in this bullshit position in the league.
As well as that while the yanks are working on new stadium plans the fans are singing for them to leave the club.I think the whole things a disgrace,not even a week after the fans cried for them to be removed they show their plans for a fantastic new stadium that will allow us to compete with Man utd and Arsenal,71.000 seats,an 18,500 seater kop and aswell as that,its a stadium that does its best to replicate everything that made anfield such a great stadium
Yanks out??Benitez is the source of our problems,its not the yanks fault we drew with villa,birmigham,arsenal,chelsea,luton,wigan,spurs,portsmouth etc....Christ its time to wake up to the real problems going on at the club and let the yanks worry about the business side of things,we're 6th because we are crap under benitez,stop blaming the owners
your name suits, punch drunk...first of all the 20 mil came from l,pool fc, transfer sales, and money from the champions league.the only thing you make any sense on is, rafa picking the wrong team. the yanks have lied to us full stop, they have no money, wereis the funds they promised us. all the money rafa spent, was from cl, and players he sold.were still down about 10 mil, which the yanks, have given to there yankee teams, taken from our team. get your facts straight,hicks is well known in usa, for his arogance and borrowing. they said they would put up the money for the ground,like shite they did, they put most of it as a debt on l/pool.listen pal as a scouser if you go to anfield with that attitude about the yanks, they will hang you.. YANKS OUT...
Mate, may be you don't comes around too much on the website else you would have noticed the post details of the transations of the club, showing that the Americans have not invested a single penny in the club yet!!

The money for Torres came from Loan, which has not yet been repaid and now is in the REfinancing package. Money for Benayoun and Babel came from the Sales of players that rafa made, around 20 millions. So where the Champions league money has gone is still a mystery.
As for the Stadium plans, they promised the work were supposed to be started in july last year, eyt nothing has happened yet, just fake words. the design has been changed4 times since their arrival, the capacity don't even exceeds that of Arsenal or ManU. Even the january transfer seems to have gone ahead thanks to rafa being able to offload Sissoko at an excellent price.. Stop dreaming and believing the lies of those Cowboys...they are ruining the public image of our club. Rafa need to be criticised for picking the wrong team in some matches, but everybody takes risks in life..unfortunately there are prices to be paid if things goes wrong.
Anyway this saga is OVER now, neither the owners are leaving nor Rafa...
The Yanks came with promises promises , and to a degree they have delivered but at what cost to the club?there treatment of Rafa hasnt won them many friends and wasnt handled very well. They could do with a good public relations Manager.
criticalmind is spot on regarding our summer spending, most of the money came from Rafa's sales, up until today the Yanks hadn;t put a penny of there own money into the club.
There is still a missing 20m which the club won from last years Champions League run, WHERE HAS THAT MONEY GONE ? HOW DO YOU EXPLAIN 20M GONE - LOST ? WHERE THE HELL HAS IT GONE ?
I dont know about you guys but if I lose twenty quid its a big deal, were talking about 20 MILLION QUID ?
The Yanks have lost our trust, and respect, and it is going to take a lot for that trust to be regained.
A statement saying that we will have 50m as a Transfer Fund in the Summer plus any monies made from player sales might get a few of us back onside.
BUT THERE'S STILL THE MISSING 20 MILLION POUNDS AND THAT WORRIES ME.

Ideally I agree I would love for us to have all the billions DIC would have been able to provide but thats not the case now and all the chants for yanks out are doing the team no good,thats the point I meant to get across.They've come to far now to sell so the fans can be singing for them to leave with no affect for a long time to come,the villa game might have had a better result if we had been singing for our players rather then for the people who pay the players wages to leave
Benitez is the problem here and yes criticalmind he does pick the wrong team in some matches but it's easy to fix that!You pick our best team in every match but the man doesnt seem able to grasp that,im not dreaming criticalmind for wanting fans to focus on the players rather then singing for the owners removal,im afraid considering Rafa in such high regard is dreaming and because so many agree with you,we'll go nowhere under him

The Yanks are not the right kind of football people to be in charge of Anfield and that's the truth.
Getting rid of Benitez in the summer is a necessity but replacing him with someone like Klinsmaan is going from bad to worse. They haven't a clue about the game and we need new owners.
Rouman, Liverpool have fans all across the world. That's what makes them a worldwide club. If it was just local fans they'd be the size of Everton. Not all our fans are fortunate enough to live and work in Liverpool to be able to be a season ticket holder.
That doesn't mean they care less or know less. I've gone 7-8 times a year to Anfield and Liverpool games in London and it costs me a lot more than your average Scouser has to pay. Does that make me more loyal a fan? I was in the Kop in Febuary 2004 against Levski Sofia in Houllier's last dismal year and I watched local Scousers sing Houllier's name when EVERYONE with a brain knew he was finsihed. I was baffled and dismayed.
So being a Scouser doesn't mean you know more about the game than fans from other places who follow the team as closely. It just means you're one of the lucky ones who live in the famous city and have the opportuntity to be a season ticket holder. I couldn't afford it unless I lived there.
And I'd have to get a divorce if I decided to move to Liverpool. Because my wife doesn't love football.
maybey not pal, but it helps, ask any scouser, everton hav e fans all over the world too, in fact they have a bigger irish, fan base thanus. being a scouser does not mean i know more , but it does mean i know..it does,t cost you more as i spend hundreds going to europe, with l,pool 1977 first european cup.then the one in wembley, istanbul. you do not no what your talking about, i seen guys selling there wifes wedding rings, there cars to get to istanbul so no you don,t spend more than the average scouser and if you were from l,pool you know that...
I never said I spend more than your average Scouser over a season Rouman; but individual games cost me more than going to a home game at Anfield for a local. The knowledge and passion of any fan for any club shouldn't just be determined by money or season tickets. Their passion and knowledge of the club and its affairs is how I judge fans, not where they're from.
No one doubts the extreme passion of Scousers for their home town club Rouman but I have drank and talked with many Scousers about the club and football in general and many are extremely knowledgable about football in and many aren't. So in that respect they are no different to fans anywhere.
A Scouser can come on here and make an opinion but if his opinion is stupid it doesn't matter where he's from. Likewise a fan from Dubai can come on here and if his opinion is true then it doesn't matter where he's from if he speaks sense.
And I promise you there are only two Premiership clubs that really matter in Ireland; Liverpool and ManUre.
most scousers are knowledgable, about lfc.you miss the point, i know we have a big fan base, and its great, but it is diffrent when your from the city. no matter what anyone says ask sg, jc, rf, any home born l,pool player. will say the same, iam being honest you also forget there are many irish living in england, and i know loads that surrport the bluenoses, and having a irish mum myself. i know a few bluenoses in ireland too. and in liverpool everton have more irish fans than we have. my wifes family are all bluenoses. here dad is irish its like you watching ireland play its your home team. i can be honest and say england means alot less to me than l,pool and thats true for most scousers. yet i also know some cockney reds, who go to all the games, yet england comes first for them. i only call it as i see it i work all over england, london manchester, newcastle, i was based in london for 7years yet every weekend i went home i could watch noone but l,pool or surport anyone else, ok i understand you because l,pool is the capital of ireland, and its a place i love. but for londoners, well they have so many teams , no i have not got anythink agaist l,pool surrpoters outside l,pool the more the merrier.its just many years ago a old man on the kop said to me there are 2 types of people on this planet scousers, and those who wish they were. iwas9 at the time and i never forgot it...
I can't disagree Rouman it means more to locals but Ireland is my country and Liverpool FC is my religion. And I know many fans from many places who feel the same.
It is a very special club that appeals to the imagination of people from all sorts of places.
It's undeniable Scousers are the life and soul of the club; they have made Anfield as famous worldwide as it is.
But I have noticed in relation to Benitez, not you but other Scousers, that they seem to think only outsiders want him sacked and real fans, the scousers, don't. That attitude to me is wrong because everyone, from Liverpool or not, who love the club are entitled to an opinion on the club they love and it shouldn't be "them and us" between fans who all love the club.
And if I was born an Englishman then I'd hope to have had the blessing to be born in Liverpool, that's for sure!
yes a lot of scousers blame none scousers over rafa i don,t because i wanted him to suceed so much.and even now i feel for him.i said that i will give him to the end of the season , and i will. you see many have said he said it will take 5 years to make l,pool great again and they want to give him the final year. your right thoe everyone ie entitled to there opinion. your also right with the us and them thing, a lot of them are just fed up with the way things have gone. but if i am honest, then who ever is manager of liverpool, with the yanks in charge won,t win the prem. the pressure just to finish 4th next year will be inmense as we have too , to pay back the loan, out of c/l money. there will not be enough to spend on players, besause of the debt, unless they go we have little chance, whoever is in charge. i think a lot of fans no this, so rafa will take the back seat for now, untill the yanks go because we all prefer rafa to hicks and gillett...
the yanks aint goin anywhere now...they got the money refinanced .. well just have to deal wit them i guess
Of course your entitled to your opinion and i wouldnt slate you for them, however the yanks have created alot of resentment within the club since taking over. For business men to come in and not understand the product they have bought and further still to make that business vulenrable and unstable is sheer madness and incompetence on their behalf. just a point mate, they LIED TO US when they said they are not using the club to finance any deals like the glazers at manure, thats their own words, and then they put up 100million worth of debt onto the club, it would of been more but this week Moores and Parry and the board got an agreement which sees them use assets outside of the immeditate club and use a holding company to support the borrowing. But they still put debt onto us and if were honest the whole deal is linked to LFC, and if goes sour then LFC will feel and suffer the loss, its just dressed up in a nice crimbo wrapper but essentially all means the same. Their attitude was all wrong as well, coming in and dictating to fans and a manager and club how to do things and going behind their backs. Never the liverpool way and maybe now they have realised this, but they are business men, never pretend to yourself they care about the club, they care about the dollar, which is what all business men care about. this dressing up holding scarfs above their heads etc is a PR STUNT. if they shut up, show us the money and back their original promises and commitments then maybe the fans will stop demonstrating, but i doubt if they will ever be forgiven, Manure fans arent demonstrating anymore, they are winning and that changes things, but i doubt they are accepted, its a case of putting up with who is there but there is no love between us and them, unlike the old days were everyone involved was fighting for the same cause
I know this thread pissed alot of people off,I mean to be honest I agree with what rouman,criticalmind,stulivered etc have to say,they arent ideal owners but our owners they remain and I think any protests to force them out should be kept off the field and full support should be giving to the players on matchday,I just thought the yanks out chants during the villa game done more bad than good and it seemed to affect the players,again I know its frustrating for the fans and they have to show their concerns somehow but I hope for now anyway protests will be kept away off the field and the fans go back to concentrating on supporting the players
