Desperately in need of another striker?

Despite Andriy Voronin scoring a few goals in pre season, he is not good enough to help us win the league, and with Peter Crouch gone too, we desperately need another striker.
We have been linked with the best in Europe - David Villa, a player most people have never heard of - David Ngog, and a Premiership veteran - Robbie Keane; but only a deal for the unknown 19 year old David Ngog looks to be set in stone so far.
We can rule out David Villa - it is highly unlikely he will be leaving Valencia, but with the figures being spouted for the signature of Robbie Keane (£18million) surely we could do alot better than the Spurs striker?
Is Keane going to be happy going from Spur's captain to sitting on the bench at Anfield? Crouch had enough of it and moved out, who is to say Keane wont do the same?
In regards to Ngog; just because no one has ever heard of him does not mean he is a bad player, but at the same time, who had heard of Voronin and look how he has turned out to be? Ngog is 19 and is expected to cost £1.5million, nothing compared to the £11million paid for Ryan Babel of a similar age.
We need to stop scraping the barrel and getting players with 'potential'; and start getting quality players who have realised their potential and are currently at a match winning level.

You question keanes ability? He has proven himself nationaly and intenationaly.. My opinion is he'll fit in really well at anfield. I'd have him before kuyt and voronin combined..........

We need proven talent this year. Rafa knows he has to mount a serious challenge for the prem this season so he's looking at the proven players in the premiership.
Hence Keane and Barry. Both players who have performed at excellent levels for their clubs in the prem. With the oppurtunities at Liverpool I expect we will mount an excellent challenge next season.
NGogg's price might have
NGogg's price might have something to do with the year left on his contract. And Keane wont sit on the bench when he comes. Rafa will have him and Torres on together. Besides that a good article! :)

Yeh, that's what people said bout Kuyt when he arrived. Till today we cant see the scoring touch as he was in the Dutch league.
Keane is over the hill & pricey. Go for younger players, look at Arse & MU.
