Riise off to Roma

John Arne Riise is in Rome to discuss a transfer to AS Roma after a fee was agreed between Liverpool and Roma.

The exact figure has yet to be confirmed, but it is thought to be in the region of £5million for the Norwegian, who has been at Anfield since 2001.

On Roma's official website, a statement says : "As part of ongoing negotiations with Liverpool football club regarding the signing of John Arne Riise, Roma have been authorised to deal with the agent of the player."

Riise scored 31 goals in 347 games for Liverpool, including the winner against Barcelona in the Nou Camp in the Champions League 06/07.

Riise is the First player to be sold, for 4m to Roma, Riise has been a good player for us during his time at Liverpool, admitably he went off the boil over the last couple of seasons, but in geneal he was a good player.

Who will ever forget his goal v Man Utd and he loved gettig scoring against Chelsea. I wish him all the best at Roma.
