Hyypia : Riise will bounce back

Sami Hyypia says John Arne Riise will get over his own goal misery by helping Liverpool beat Chelsea on Wednesday.

Riise scored an own goal in the 94th minute in the first leg of the Champions League semi final, but Hyypia insists Riise will recover from it : "John is a good character and hopefully he is not worrying about that own goal any longer,"

"He is mentally 100 per cent and players should be professional enough to handle these situations.  It is not the first time John has scored an own goal and there are many other players who will score own goals.

It is normal in football these days because the ball is travelling through the air so quickly and sometimes you don't know where it is going from your head or foot.

Hyypia said he also hopes he has played his way into Rafa's first team plans for the game on Wednesday night : "The boss has selected many of the players who don't normally play that often and they had their chance to shine," he added.

"I can't read the boss's mind but we have given 100 per cent and tried to create a problem for him about who to pick on Wednesday.

"I am unhappy to concede two goals here but it was good to come back and we got that point which means Everton can't catch us any more."
