Carra : Torres is the world's best

Liverpool vice-captain Jamie Carragher has heaped praise on goal hero Fernando Torres after he scored his 30th goal of the season.

Carragher says Torres is the stand out striker in world football, and he wouldn't want anyone else in his place : "For me, Fernando is probably the stand out striker in world football and I'm just delighted that he's in a Liverpool shirt," he said.
 
"To get 30 goals in your first season is a fantastic achievement and hopefully he can go on and get a few more goals this season.
 
"People said he didn't have his best game against Blackburn but he scored another important goal and that's his job ".

He was also quick to praise Stevie Gerrard after he was voted Man of the Match against Blackburn: "Steven was man of the match in that game and that was a great way for him to mark his 300th league game for Liverpool.
 
"He scored the first goal, set another up and played really well. A few years ago I said he was the best player in the world and I stand by that. I would rather have Stevie in the Liverpool team than Kaka, Messi, Ronaldinho, whoever you want to mention. That's the way I judge him."
