Thought Plessis did well, this young lad looked very assured , played the simple pass and did very little wrong . well played a very good debut performance, and nice to see a young player coming through the ranks.

Yet another very good performance against Arsenal today, we were the better side in the first half , Riise missed a sitter, and we should have gone in 2-0 up, Arsenal played better in the second half but were helped by slack marking from crosses and a neeedless foul given away by Pennant. Some good performances from Arbeloa ( my man of the match ) Carragher, Lucas ( looks better in a forward position ), Crouch, and Plessis ( a very assured debut ) , dissapointing displays from Riise and Pennant ( I cant see either of these players with the club next season ) and Voronin, but hey a good result giving us a phycological edge for Tuesday. Arsenal look a jaded team, lets hope we get the result we need on tuesday.

I AGREE WE SEEM VERY VUNRABLE ON CROSSES , CROUCH LOST HIS MAN , REINNA DOES SEEM A BIT HESITANT, WE SEEM TO JUST GIFT FREE HEAREARS IN THE BOX , THIS HAS BEEN A WEAKNESS FOR A WHILE NOW.

IT NEEDS TO BE SORTED OUT AND FAST BECAUSE ARSENAL ARE VERY GOOD AT EXPOSING THIS WEAKNESS AND ID HATE TO SEE IT COSTING US ON TUESDAY NIGHT.

EQUALLY WE ARE STILL CRAP AT CROSSING AND TAKING CORNERS WHEN ATTACKING, MAKE YOU WONDER WHAT THEY DO IN TRAINING .

I thought Arbeloa had a great game today , he seems better at left back than right even though he is right footed, far better than Riise or Aurelio. He kept Walcot very quite and also made a couple of crucial tackles. He was my man of the match, alongside Carragher.

i hope rafa, now relises that crouch, is by far the better than kuyt. as he has not played many games yet in the first half he was superb. i hop we attaCK ARSE on tuesday, because that is the way to beat them. today we played well in the first half and even the second half vornin should have scored, still to play for on tuesday....

yes plesis, is from are reserves, and is just, one of the many talents we have. allways plays well for the second team.

Liverpool signed French youngster Damien Plessis from Lyon on transfer deadline day in August 2007.

The teenager, who penned a three-year contract, plays as a holding midfielder and is part of the reserve ranks at Melwood.

On securing his signature, Rafa Benitez said: "He is a good player, big and strong, and we're sure he'll do well for us.

"He's only a young boy with plenty of time to work on his game but it depends on his progress how quickly he can force his way into the first team."

Plessis is 20 years of age.

Having watched Arbeloa mark Walcott out of the game today , and watched some of his incisive tackles, I reckon he is our best full back. Wether he plays left or right he has a knack of doing well, at 2.3m he is one of Rafa's best buys.He is far better than Aurelio or Riise at left back.

To my mind he should be in the team for every game, we look so much more solid with Finnan at right back Arbeloa on the left.

Better than expected result yesterday, the game could have gone either way but really feeling confident about progressing to semi-final, your right about arbeloa eddie, i've liked him from day one and he may come up with the odd goal or so, even though some fans have called him crap, what the hell has got into reina just lately, although part of a 5 or 7 man defence it's the wrong time of the season to be getting the jitters, i don't think we get the best out of carragher at right back, well done plessis, he plays every reserve game like that (a class act in the making), i watch all our reserve games since i get setanta free, even though lucas has moved up and darby gets a mention, plessis along with leto (a bad game against marseille), insua, el zhar, spearing, flynn and nemeth "the next robbie fowler", should all be getting opportunities next season of some sort of prem action, peter obviously had a point to prove yesterday, the boss loves kuyt but voronin and pennant may be gonners if rafa gats to buy a couple of front men in the summer, it's a shame roma did not take thier chances and c'mon fenerbahce.
