Adebayor broke the deadlock for Arsenal after scoring a header from a corner, no defender was near him as he jumped to score past Pepe Reina.
Dirk Kuyt equalised just 3 minutes later, after Gerrard took 2 players on down the edge of the left side of the box, he put the ball across the goal where Kuyt slid in to get the much needed away goal.
45 Mins to go, if Babel wakes up then there's no reason why we cant get the win.

I found it hard to keep my eyes open to watch the game last night. Passing was rubbish, i thought Raina was going to make a mess of it when he came out to get the ball at the beginning, but never mind we will settle for 1-1. Next time we play Arsenal i hope we put some life into it pass better and keep the ball more.
The tie is evenly balanced
It'd be dangerous for the players or fans to think we'll just put Arsenal out now because they are coming to Anfield. They won't fear a stadium they won at twice last season in Cup games.
Arsenal, playing as they did in the San Siro, are the best team in the Prem. So Liverpool have to give them respect and defend stoutly to stop Arsenal scoring. But neither do we want to put 11 men behind the ball.
I have a feeling Benitez will go for an early goal and then if we don't get it he will retreat in the 2nd half and try to hang on to a clean sheet. It nearly backfired at home to Barce last season when they scored late and it was a VERY nervous last 10 mins.
We need more composure when we get the ball to take the sting out of a game. This is where Benitez's Liverpool is poor in big games - ball retention.
It makes no sense whatsoever when you're under pressure to keep giving the ball to the opposition as cheaply as we do. Benitez has to put more emphasis on passing the ball and not just defensive organisation.

your right, we need to attack arse we need at least a goal. maybey 2 defending at home is not on, and chelski destroyed arse at stamford bridge,by getting in there faces, the last 15 min at that game it was like the alamo arse could not handle it.we need pace and power and someone to help torres up front, at highbury he was lost as he han no support. come on you reds..
Are Arsenal as great as there cracked up to be ?
I cannot deny that Arsenal play attractive football , but I ask the question are they really as good as they are made up to be ?
Players like Breadtner, Sanderos, Ebouie, seem very ordinary players to me, others like Hleb, Flamini, Walcott,are inconsistant. There biggest threat comes from Fabragas, Adenbyoor , and Van Persie, recent games have shown that Arsenal are struggling and are nowhere near as free flowing as the newspapers suggest. Add the winger Wenger and I beg the question are they as good as there made out to be ?
Yes the put us under pressure in the second half last night but so they should they were the home side the emphasis was on them, We are more than capable of taking the game to them in the second leg and coming away with victory, pehaps Arsenal have deluded themselves that they are better than they actually are.

when we were 3-0 down against milan i honestly thought that was it we are finnished but we came back 2 win that game all i am trying 2 say is the lads can prove that they can do it even under pressure so come on lads GET THAT CUP we deserve it

Arsenal's title challenge
Wouldn't have minded losing this game 2day, cos now arsenal know the league has all but gone, they only have the CL to go for and will put everything into Tuesday night. As we know from last season they're well able to get a good cup result at anfield! and lets face it, it would be better to see the PL title go to the gooners than that scum down the east lancs rd, or to chelski. Hopefully Rafa's learnt his lesson and we can mount a serious challenge next year, and the players realise they are as good if not better than the red scum and the cockney blue scum (who really are shite) The difference between us is that they both have the ability to get something from games when they dont deserve anything,(chelski do it all season) and we get nothing when we do! back to tuesday, GOOD LUCK LADS, Fenerbache in the semi's! fingers crossed
