Champ League Draw

Oh dear !!! We beat Chelsea only in europe so why not Arsenal to.

3 games in one week! That's

3 games in one week! That's crazy. Count on 2 draws at least.

Champions Lge

We are out.
Arsenal were the one team we didnt want.

your wrong

liverpool are kings of europe.
aresenal have no chance mate

Gunners to go out crying!

What a great draw! Not far to travel, a team we know well and the second match at Anfield.

Another great European night looms. Arsenal are probably one of the hardest teams to play at this stage but Liverpool have the Euro experience and I cant see Arsenal breaking them down over two legs.

Having said that, the winner would surely be odds on to win the cup.

"Liverpool have the Euro

"Liverpool have the Euro experience and I cant see Arsenal breaking them down over two legs". So did Milan. Anyway, a lot is gonna depend on how Liverpool play at the Emirates. Anfield could soo easily be a draw. Arsenal are not so easy to break down either.

Key Battles

Flamini v Gerrard
Fabrtegas v Mascherano
Adebayor/ Van P v the defence
Torres v the defence

should be a cracker tho.

bad

It was "YET" another draw which didn't go our way. And playing arsenal 3 times in a week can turn into a bit of horror for any of the 2.

Am pretty hopeful we are in to face our regular Semi finalists compatriots chelsea (again) and heading to Moscow. !!

I wish these two had been

I wish these two had been kept apart, could this signal the end of Rafa???

Liverpool 2008 Champs

I have a feeling the Arsenal-Liverpool matches will be damn dynamite. Im positive Liverpool will win and go on to lift the trophy. Only team that stand in their way is Man United.

No way MU will beat Barca.

No way MU will beat Barca. Pl.... MU is finished.

we never get the easiest

we never get the easiest draw unlike mufc but i prefer it when no-one gives us a chance so we can shock the rest of europe again!we are the kings of europe and nobody would have wanted to draw us at this stage of the season as where always at our strongest.so back us all u non believers to exact revenge for last years humiliation in the carling cup, arsenal beware rafa wont have a second string team playing this time!!!

Only one team will play to win

Rafa will try to keep a clean sheet while Arsenal will be the ones trying to open the game up. I cant see Liverpool beating us to be honest, we are more than capable of scoring at Anfield and quietening the crowd early doors.

come on reds

you can do it beat these mother f...ers

Cheers for pointing that out, only just seen it! , will look into it and get it sorted.

Look at Rick Parry on Sky

Look at Rick Parry on SkySports news and the shirt and tie he has on and look at the Arsenal guy Keith Edelman in a smart Arsenal club suit.

Parry is a joke and is so unprofessional he should be sacked long ago.

It might seem a small thing but not if you know how badly Liverpool have been run for a decade by the ex chairman Mr Moores and his sidekick the clown Rick Parry.

1RED1POOL

your right about about, parry, but wrong about moores. the man is liverpool though, and though, hew sold out to the yanks, on parry,s advice the man gave liverpool over 150millon, he cried when kenny left, and roy evans, his only downfall was he was to soft. but the man has helped l,pool so much. in my eyes, and many others, a topman..

MOORES IS DEFINATELY LIVERPOOL THROUGH AND THROUGH

I AGREE ROUMAN, I MET DAVID MOORES ONECE AND HE IS A GENTLEMAN, HE LOVES LIVERPOOL FOOTBALL CLUB AND CARES PASSIONAYELY ABOUT THE FANS /EVERYTHING ABOUT THE CLUB.
I CAN ONLY ASSUME THAT HE WAS BADLY ADVISED OR MADE A HUGE MISTAKE, I'M CERTAIN HE MUST BE CRINGEING AT THE MESS THAT IS NOW AT THE CLUB. I JUST WISH HE WOULD COME OUT AND SAY IT PUBLICLY, IT WOULD PUT HICKS IUNDER EVEN MORE PRESSURE TO SELL.

EDDIE888

your right, mate d moores, loves lfc. the only reason he has not come out yet is, that he has to wait, till all this take over is sorted. as he is now in a position of little power, they can remove him , and he knows a voice inside anfield is better than one out side. give him time it will all come out. as for parry, well his time is up, and he knows it blame him for the yanks, he was the one who was surrposed to have made sure the yanks. were good to there word.. moores listend to him. the rest is old news..

ROUMAN

I agree not only that Parry ws paid a £250,000 bonus for sorting out the deal. Some deal, Parry is definately to blame for the Yanks.

Benitez

Well dear Rafa - if you knock out the Gunners in the quarter final, beat Chelsea again in the semi and then play Utd off the park in Moscow I will give in to "In Rafa We Trust" brigade and give you my full backing - provided of course you win the title next year. On the other hand - if Arsenal completely outplay us, as they did at Anfield - when we spent 90 minutes chasing shadows it could well be Hello Jose. I am not sure going on and on about the Champions League record we have under Rafa was a wise move with the 3 teams above us in the Premier League all in the draw - prove me wrong Rafa for the sake of the Club.

ARSEAL ARE WELL BEATABLE

I HAVE BEEN A BIG CRITIC OF BENITEZ BUT BELIEVE WE WILL BEAT ARSENAL IN THE CHAMPIONS LEAGUE, SIMPLY BECAUSE OUR EXPERIENCE OF BIG GAMES WILL SHOW THROUGH.
HAVING THE SECOND LEG AT ANFIELD TO MY MIND IS A HUGE PLUS.

LETS BEEAT THE ARSE THEN THE CHELS AND FINALLY STICK IT UP THE RED NOSED ONE ONCE AND FOR ALL.

ON OUR DAY WE CAN BEAT ANYONE OVER TWO LEGS.

The next round

Eddie, since the home game against Wigan I have had no confidence in what we can do but at last we have gained some stability, are winning and above all have huge confidence from Tuesday night. Provifding we don't do a Barnsley at home today, this confidence will only grow and I now am actually looking forwrd to the away leg. I agree with all your comments!!!!George

George / things have improved since the new formation

George I agree things have improved since Benitez changed our formation, using Alonso and Mascherano allows Gerrard to get forward and concentrate on attacking, that plus his understanding with Torres has been great. Benitez is also chooosing to play his best players in every game.

There is no doubt that we can beat Arsenal over two legs, they appear to be struggling a bit recently , and do not have as much confidence as they had a the beginning of the year. I reckon the game will be won and lost in midfield, Wenger will be whinging as usual about our physical strenghs, but I see nothing for us to fear. Two draws at the Emirates and a win at Anfield is how I see it panning out.

Reading

Hi Eddie, I was a bit worried about this game, the sort we could easily drop after a great result a few days earlier. But it does really look as though we have got that consistency which we all hoped would be there at the start of the season. Rafa does seem to be giving us what we have pleaded for for many months! I like Skrtel. I live in Australia and look forward to seeing goals on cable TV later today. All the best, George

WELL DONE FERNANDO

First player since Robbie Fowler to score Twenty League goals in a season, well done Fernando.

ANOTHER GOOD GAME TODAY AGAINST READING

Yet another good result today against Reading, more good performances from Torres Gerrard, Alonso Skrtel and Mascherano.
We looked a bit suspect on free kicks and early on, but eventually took control, great goal from Masch ( my man of the match ), lets hope its the first of many,
I thought Alonso played well today, as did Skrtel at the back.
How many sitters has Kuyt missed this season ? and I thought Aurelio was poor once again.
Oher than that a good result.

Well done, now for the big ones, Man Utd, Everton, and Arsenal. Plus our Champions League games. Exciting times for us fans yet again.

SKRTEL LOOKING VERY GOOD

Skrtel looked really good today, this skinhead is really looking the real deal. Jamie Carragher is going to have real challenge on his hands nest season. Skrtel and Agger could prve to be a great partnership for yeas to come. Rafa Benitez has bought well.

BENITEZ NULLIFIED HIS OWN AUGUEMENT

"Rafael Benitez has nullified his own argument. Liverpool are on a good run of form and he's made the least rotations to his squad."
Carlton Palmer, Score on BBCi
These are the comments fro Carlton Palmer on Radio Five Live hard not to agree, since Rafa has started selecting his best players every week, we have gone and won Seven games on the trot, suprise suprise.

Rotation Policy

I have to say, I half-way support Rafa's rotation. Especially at the beginning of the season, when there are a lot of new players who need to be given multiple chances to show what they can bring to the table in real game situations. You never know who will turn out to be a diamond in the rough. Second, it lets the other players rest for non-PL games, such as Champions League, Carling Cup, etc. Third, it does make it difficult on the opponent to prepare for a team, when they do not know who will be playing where.

The negatives we are all aware of... lack of chemistry in some squads, player becoming cold, crappy players playing too much. I hope he calms the rotation policy down a little bit next year, but I do believe he knows more than we do when it comes to who plays and who shouldn't.

ALONSO MAKES A HUGE DIFFERENCE

Having Xabi Aloso in our midfield makes a huge difference to our side. He really adds that extra bit of class, he had a superb game today against Reading, given a run in the side I cn see him getting better and better. The Xabi Alonso that played in his First Season at the club is waiting to show his stuff again.

XABI

Yup Eddie, i agree, having xabi makes a huge difference to our side and he's getting better and better. I feel pitty for him because he should had a goal at least two superb goals. He's just so unlucky but i'm sure he'll score soon.

superb display from torres, gerrard, and masch. and its funny when i looked at the replay on tele when Torres played a little hide and seek behind Carragher's back to avoid reading's defender, thats why he's got a lot of space when he scored from his head.

But did you see how aurelio play??i think that guy doesn't even deserve a place in our starting eleven, he had shown us that he is really an average player who we should sell in the next summer.

AGREE TITO ANFIELD - AURELIO IS CRAP

I agree tito anfield Auelio and Kuyt were our weak links yet again today. Aurelio is crap I find it hard to believe that he is Brazilian because his football has nothing Brazilian about it. He lacks flair, rarely overlaps, keeps pasing backwards rather than forward, then when he does its a oof upfield, and doesnt defend ver well. All in all not very good at all.
