Daniel Agger has been ruled out for the rest of the season as he is to undergo surgery on his metatarsal injury.

Agger has been out for most of the season, and was starting to make a comeback with the Reserve team, but instead will now face surgery and be out for the remainder of the season. Rafa Benitez confirmed the bad news: "It's a blow for Daniel but we want to get his problem sorted, We have defensive cover and Martin Skrtel is playing very well. Daniel will be back for next season."
