The deals to sign Yossi Benayoun and Ryan Babel are nearly finished, after Liverpool agreed a fee for Benayoun, and Babel agreed personal terms and passed a medical yesterday.
Benayoun was touted as a signing involving a swap deal for Craig Bellamy, but Liverpool have finally agreed a fee with West Ham United for the Israeli international.
Speaking about the deals, Liverpool's Chief Executive Rick Parry said :" We've agreed the fee with West Ham for Yossi Benayoun.
"We're not quite there with Ryan Babel yet, but we've now been given permission by Ajax to talk to the player. We hope to reach an agreement with Ajax very shortly."
Babel passed a medical yesterday, and agreed personal terms, and is now waiting for the green light from Ajax to complete the deal.
