Summer spending spree; who to buy, who to sell?
The 2006/2007 season is over and not much has happened at LFC after the heartbreaking champions’ league final. Does the season look promising? Not yet it doesn’t, but I know we’re all hoping for something to happen and quick.
Why are we so behind when it comes to the premiership? The same players play in the Champions league and do pretty well for themselves. What is it about the premiership that Rafa needs know? The fact that we are so far behind in the transfer market is another massive reason we’re not competing on all fronts.
Money needs to be made available as soon as a players name is mentioned. I don’t mean the maloudas or the Mathew Taylor; I mean the big guns in the likes of Villa, Eto, Torres and most recently Tevez. Those are targets we should be looking at realistically and not just passing on the odd rumor or two. Players I would love to see at Liverpool next season would be: In a striker position: Eto, Villa, Tevez, Torres (no not bent or Owen) I’m surprised really why anybody hasn’t mentioned Zlatan Ibrahimovic. I think he would be a much better option that crouches.
That is if Rafa is looking for height upfront. Price wise, well I’m not quite sure what to make of it, but wouldn’t necessarily break the bank. In a midfield role: well I think we are quite sorted in that area no need for more players disrupting the harmony of the squad. Wingers: Simao has been mentioned a few times on various websites, but is Rafa ready to spend more than what he bargained for? Highly unlikely! Alessandro Faiolhe Amantino Mancini: AS Roma star and left sided winger or midfielder is probably one of the better options if we plan to pay big. He is a player that can cause a lot of damage on the left hand side. Something we have lacked for a few odd years now.
The Valencia CF roster includes three players I would love to see at Anfield three midfielders and one defender: Vicente, Joaquin, Silva. All three of these players can be used with great effect on our wings especially if we need another right sided winger Silva can use both feet and plays exceptionally well. Closer to home would be Tottenham’s very own Aaron Lennon(why not , he’s good , talented young and would be slightly cheaper)I hate the fact that when us as liverpool fans have to talk about buying cheap.
Its degrading to the history of liverpool football club. Defenders: Well Sami is supposedly staying so instead of a CB I would prefer the Portuguese lad Miguel. Great right sided player caused england a hell of a lot of trouble in the world cup and plays beautifully in that position. If Sami does go(good luck to him). We would need to get reinforcements in the likes of Gabriel Milito.Young powerful and good in the air. With regards to keepers , well Pepe is doing a good job. NOT great mind you , he could do with punching out lessons. Carson should stay on with us but is he guaranteed a first team role. Not on your life.
So who to fill in the gap ? Players to go and never come back except one :
1. Zenden: too old not good enough for Lfc 2. Bellamy: Too many off sides. Not good enough for Lfc 3. Momo: too many reckless tackles and inadequate passes .Not good enough for Lfc (plus we got mascherano) and Leiva. 4. Peter crouch: scores goals, not enough to win the league and blatantly not in his wildest dreams good enough for lfc. 5 Dudek: thanks for Istanbul jersey but you lost the plot hence not good enough for lfc. 6. Harry kewell : Too many injuries and not enough passion .Get the hell out of LFC 7. Mark gonzalez : Too young lacks experience should of played in a higher league whilst online , would like to see him stay has a lot to offer with speed and agility. 8. djibril cisse : Never made it big couldn’t make an impact therefore not good enough for Lfc. We need players worthy of a place in Lfc , not players who are basically second hand and from lower league clubs.
Players who can make an impact on debut and stay consistent for at least 30 games throughout the campaign. It makes me sick to the bone to say it , but we need players like Ronaldo who show class and continue to do it.Bloody hell and we were looking to sign him before them dirty bastards. Just hope the board and parry stick to their promise and provide good and fast.

Mark Gonzalez & Momo
You mentioned while on loan he could have played in a higher league, you can't get any higher than La Liga but in saying that English football hasn't suited him and just couln't hack it. At least we will recoup a lot of money we paid for him.
As for Momo, impressive start to last season but fell apart come the end. The fact the man came back from a injury like he had and still playing says a lot for his character and if he does leave he would be sadly missed.
We should not sell crouch has been a decent signing and as for ibramovich another el hadji diouf moaning and disinterested player
Good points made,but
good points made , but my emphasis is the category they are all under..not world class...I respect what crouch has done for us and what he as put in as a player...but what i was trying to get at was...if we buy say for example eto..would you want crouch to stay or would you want another world class player playing along side him.
Gonzo's higher league statement was about playing in a higher league as in class or gear ...say valencia or even sevilla ...not as in a higher league for a different country.
And lastly the momo bit..He is a liabilty when it comes to tackling..wouldnt you rather have mascherano ?? plus I think that javier has cemented a place in the squad and that momo has no place in the team ...as a first team player that is !
why
why have we not heard, from hicks and co. sureley they could have made a statement, that they are giving , rafa the money he wants. with all this uncertain talk about transfers. i hope the reason is that deals have nearly been done and they are wating for them, to be completed. well we can dream cant we.
Ins and Outs
I think the core of our team is very strong..Reina (most of the time), Carra, Agger, Gerrard, Mascherano, Alonso are all very good players.
What I think we need is some speed and skill on the wings and up front. Obviously this costs big money, but if Rafa seriously wants to challenge Man U and Chelsea we need some more attacking power.
I would like to see the following come in:
1. Simao - quick, can cross and scores goals from all distances
2. Malouda - only for a reasonable price mind you
3. Ledley King - really rate this guy, but only if injuries are clear now. Would be great with Carra. Otherwise Milito
4. Eto'o - no doubt about it this guy would be the perfect addition. Strong, quick and can finish
5. Tevez - settled in premiership now and would be perfect playing behind Eto'o
We should have got Distin on a free, but didnt move quickly enough.
OUt
Gonalez
Cisse
Pongolle (shame he never made it)
Momo - 10m is too good to turn down
Dudek
Bellamy
Palletta-will never make it in prem
Kewell-always "if only" with this guy
Zenden
I would be willing to give Crouch another season, as he scores a few goals and holds up play well. Still to be convinced with Kiyt. Works so hard, but will score the goals next season?
Apologies for the long message, the transfer window is quality!
Is David villa really that good???
I'm afraid he could end up at liverpool as Rafa has good contacts at Valencia, but that player Sucks!!! Even Nistelroy has scored twice more goal than him, and he seems just like Dirk kuyt...A WORKHORSE...running on the field and passing the ball..so who the hell will score then.
Well About Eto he is a class striker..and like Drogba can adapt..but stars are difficult to manage gona be a great gamble..
Tevez could have been a best buy coz he has already played in the premiership and showed that he can at least score against MAN Utd and other great teams.
very good player
Villa is a quality striker who gets goals and creates them. Valencia play a similar game to ourselves in that they like to play on the counter attack and are perfectly happy with the 1 nil victories. In Villa they have a skill, intuition, good feet and pace. He's a very clever player who can create space for those he plays with and also an eye for a great pass, really is a complete player almost like the Gerrard of strikers. I don't rate our chances of getting him because he is a golden boy of Spanish footy and unlike Garcia and Alonso doesn't need to up his profile by playing in the English League. He also has a very expensive clause in his contract that would swallow up a significant amount of if not all of our transfer budget. Once again it would be a test of the new owners resolve but if I were them I wouldn't do it because in truth the team isn't quite yet ready for that super striker without spending significant money on a couple of wingers and a play maker. The worst case scenario is we get Villa and he doesn't bang em in and then we would find it oh so hard to attract big players in the future. If we get the Left/right winger of top quality then David Villa is the man to provide the finish but without em ... its an expensive punt!
your right Villa isn't great
your right Villa isn't great and he is not what Liverpool needs. We already have Dirk Kuyt to play the role of striker-come-midfielder, If the two of them were to play up front we would have precious little goals next season. It can be good to have one natural goal scorer and one who does most of the work, and we didn't have that at all this season. Our two main strike forces were Kuyt/Bellamy and Kuyt/Crouch. The former had Kuyt running around retrieving the ball and setting bellars up while he ran offside, and the former had Kuyt running around retrieving the ball while crouch stood there waiting and if the ball was at the other end he might run up a bit to make it look like he's doing something.
That's all we need one or two natural goal scorers. Tevez would be the perfect buy for us and I reall want to see him coming to Liverpool, I can see a brighter future future for us if only the club put the works in motion and him to sign
villa
i think you are being, hard on villa. critical mind, kuyt is a work horse, but villa is faster and has more skill. i think he is a good player, weather he can score 20 goals aseaseon in the prem i am not sure. i think he is a better option than torres thoe. even anelka ,idont think he will score 20 either, even thoe he too is a good player.
And now what ?
And now what ?
Another day gone by and nothing new has happened with our team on the transfer market.
Hour after hour goes by and still nothing from the mouths of hour fucking board.
Doubt starts to fill the heart of most fans , doubting the decision made to give the yanks the power and probably get nothing in return.
Frustration is in our heart as we see our main rivals buy a shit load of players and yet we are way behind.
What should be done as fans ? Stand outside the gates of our anfield and ask for answers?
Patience is a load of bullshit if anyone cares to mention being patient..being patient gets you bullocks for tea !!
Being there when it matters and with the right amount of money wins you silverware no matter what! (well these days that is)
How many times have we spent talking about who we are going to get ? How many times have our hearts pounded at the thought of a new era ?
Can the gay ass board hear us ? Or is their priority the teams they have on the west side of the globe more important than our LFC?
I need (we need) answers and we need them now.If only there was a way to tell the idiots behind all the delays that their days are numbered.
People here might not understand how passionate I am. my brothers are both mancs and my work mates are mancs and chelski scum.To see my team so far behind is heart aching.I talk and talk about history but for how long?
Im sure thats how some if not all the people on here feel.
We need a new plan and we need one to make sure the board know we mean business ..if your not going to show us the money that you promised then .....I dont fucking know what to do .
Ill have to leave it for tomorrow after work to think about it.
ynwa
Omar garcia.
ouch/
i thought i had it bad, you are right thoe. i have just heard that a parry , has said we are about to make some signings, soon. i hope they are the ones we all want. i have got a feeling we might get eto.and the french, winger. i think alves is chelski, bound. he himself has said were ever the money is.lets hope we all have yhe last laugh on the mancs and chelski.oh and by the way my sister, and my best mate are evertonfans. so i just have it a little easier, than you.
Giuly of Barcelona/Guti of Real
It seems Giuly's leaving the Nou Camp and I read Marseilles might be his destination. Surely we should make a swift move to get him. He is a quality player who might be 30 but you'd get him for 5-6 million and he has the pace and incision we lack.
Also Guti might be a clever signing as he has a beautiful left foot full of creativty which might be very useful in away games in Europe when you need some guile.
Surprised too we didn't move for Ribery. If Bayern Munich get him we could have got him because not many top players want to play in the Bundesliga.
I think we need to bring in quality players from the big clubs abroad like Giuly or Guti who have experience of playing for high pressure clubs. Often Liverpool is just too big for the players we bring in and they never show their true talent. Buying players from other huge clubs ensures they at least have experience of the pressure at big clubs. I mean the real big clubs of Europe. Granted Morientes failed but no one can understand why he was so bad.
self serving bias
1Red1Pool we should really get away from this idea that these players can't hack it at 'a big club'. Its a self serving bias designed to hide the truth .... if a player comes to a club that is consistently winning leagues and cups and then doesn't preform then we can say 'they couldn't hack it at a big club'. if a good player comes to a team with aspirations to win things and doesn't preform perhaps we share the blame between club and player. thats a critical way to look at things instead of just laying blame at the player. We don't need Guily nor Guti and if we end up buying them we become Bolton !
I disagree, Tyron26
Giuly is a very good player and so is Guti. That's all that matters. AC Milan have proven that all this nonsense about age is pointless. They've been in 3 European Cup finals in 5 years. Manure haven't done that in their entire history with all their famous youngsters. Youth isn't a guarantee of success and should not be too important if the players are still hungry for success. Madrid didn't care about Cannavaro's age. Zola was 29-30 when he came to Chelsea and look what he did. Would you have preferred Gonzales or Giuly last summer?
As for the big clubs issue, well I agree our style of football doesn't always help new players because it is physical and rigid. But sometimes a club is too big for some players, like Gonzales, and they are better suited to lesser lights where the pressure is less. At least if you buy from fellow big clubs they have that experience of pressure which is benefical.
tyron26
you talk a lot of sense, but i cannot toteally agree with you.i think you are talking about bell, when you say the blame should be between, the club and player. in somecases yes you are right, ie cisse, was never a winger and he was allways, played out of position. fowler never played enough games. yes the club have to take some of the blame . but to be honest alot of them cannot step up .bell is one so i think it evens it self out, as far as guily 3mil yes, guti 3mil yes, age has no barrier. we need old heads to win the prem.
you got me me!! There was a
you got me me!! There was a sly reference to Bellars there and it's no secret that I like him as a player but only time will tell Rouman! It's true experience brings a lot to a squad but has Guily played enough first team football since Messi's arrival to come to the squad as a 30 yr old? saying that if we could get Guilys services for the figures yourself and 1Red1Pool quoted then why not ... !! we are supposed to have some big transfer news at the end of the week .. so who knows !!
ribery
theres talk by diouff(marseille president) of a english club who asked about ribery but asked to remain anon!!
maybe lfc? maybe not.but we are in talks with them about cisse so why not?
http://home.skysports.com/list.aspx?hlid=470094&CPID=24&clid=144&lid=9&title=Bayern+close+in+on+Ribery
cisse
just read bolton, want cisse on loan. no way either ,anelka or money. he will then be only one year away, from a free transfer. no rafa keep him or sell him no loan deals.
Good news should come soon
It's not like I have a link or anything, but good things lead to other good things. First the new deals for Gerrard & Carragher which will see them tied with us til they reach their 30's. Then, some new signings are surely going to come "not sure if they are famous enough, or people we've heard off, but surely new signings are about to be made in a very early time"
AC Milan move for Eto'o
According to various news reports AC Milan have made Eto'o their number one target and Adriano Galliano has stated it publicly.
If this is the case I don't think Eto'o will choose Liverpool ahead of Milan. He is on record as saying Shevchenko shouldn't have left Milan to go to a defensive team like Chelsea so he will hardly join Liverpool whom everyone except stubborn Liverpool fans regard as a defensive team too.
If Milan are serious I think Eto'o will go there ahead of Anfield. I hope not but I would expect so. Most players would like to play with Ronaldo, Kaka, Maldini and Nesta.
So who else do we go for? David Villa, 25 million and maybe not physical enough for the Premiership despite his quality. Maybe Fernando Torres; a striker with a less than prolific record. Or Berbatov or Owen or Anelka or Klose or Trezequet or ..... who?
hey.
hold on we are a counter, attack team.only one player, you mentioned kaka,is still worth playing with. ronaldo, maldini, and nesta. have all seen better days. ac milan are on the way down, next season you watch, juventus.none of those, players except kaka would make it in the prem, too old and slow there best days.we are a team on the up ac milan are not.we should have beat them, they were there for the taking. if only rafa had a decent striker. well thats gone now but ac milan are not better than us, with the racist, in italy eto will think twice liverpool here i come.
Four signings so far
Four signings so far for next season, Lucas Leiva and Sebastian Leto will go straight into the 1st team squad. Whereas Hungarian youngsters Krisztian Nemeth and Andras Simon will almost certainly play for the reserves and youth teams. Hopefully this weeks signing as reported by Hicks will be someone like Daniel Alves, a class left back or a world class striker.
You forgot our feebie
You forgot our freebie Veronin!
Sorry lads and laddettes but to be really honest and fair...our targets look like they are going to other teams and the players we have arent going to be sold for the top market price...the ones on the market that is ...except maybe momo ..if he goes for 10+ million then that would probably go to the building of the new stadium....thats what the new owners have emphasized on....what do we do with a new stadium which would be built in 2010 if we are not challenging for the league?
Damn it..just our luck that we're stuck with americans who cant handle what "real fans" want...I just hope we dont regret not letting DIC take control .
maybey
we will not get all we want, but i think, we will get that french winger. and a few others, even alves has said ,he would like to see what liverpool has to offer.we all feel fed up but i am going to wait to see who we do get. before i loose control scouse4 life, calm down.i watched voronin. play the other day he didt look to bad.
henry
whats this about henry joining, liverpool.the odds have been cut, from 10;1 to3;1 does someone know somethink.
feel u !!!
I share your concerns S4L it guts me to see us dragging our heels in the market!! This may brighten your day though as we have been linked (paper talk obviously) to the talented A.S Roma winger Mancini !!! If we do nab him he should provide the flair we are short of on the left wing. I'm not sure if you rate Pennant but the coming season we should really see why Assnal paid record money when he was a youth couple that with mancini on the other wing and a new striker and the levels should raise. I'm not a fan of the predictable ball we've played for the last couple seasons... I'm a fan of the beautiful game and I really feel quality on the wings will raise us up!! hope Rafa doesn't try and stifle their attacking instinct though!!
I rate pennant highly tyron
He has proved to alot of us fans that not only is he worthy of a place in the starting 11, but with more games he would be one of the best out there.
So true S4L .. it's a big
So true S4L .. it's a big injustice that he hasn't got the England call up as yet because he offers on the right what Joe Cole does on the left. As you say with regular games and the confidence that brings we will finally have that right sided winger we've been screaming for the last 3 yrs. The lad is a boyhood fan and will give his all to the club so Like yourself I'm firmly behind him and can't wait for some superb displays that'll get us challenging again. News just in that assnal have entered the race to sign Malouda, while I was never really a fan because I didn't see him adapting .. I have a gut feeling he'll find his feet at assnal with all the pace the team possess !! Also Eto 's agent has gone public about the so called 'lies' that have appeared in the media linking him with a move away from the Nou Camp! Eto deosn't leave Ron / Messi / Deco etc ... it would be like leaving the most decadent dinner meal half way through the evening to go home and get a kebab (and thats any team)!!
jp
i have to be honest, i did not rate him at first.but he has played well, the last few games. maybey he needs to play more games a first team player rather, than a squad player. i hope he keeps it up next season.
Eto and Malouda
didnt Eto praise the Anfield supporters recently surely he will pick Liverpool over Milan
maybe that was code for "come get me" . I hear Malouda could be our first signing , aint seen too much of him, will he do the job?
From what i saw he seems more defensive than attacking and dont really terrorise defenders although a French international which cant be bad
Malouda looks good, just
Malouda looks good, just watched a few clips on youtube. From what I've seen of Lyon in the Champs league he is certainly one of there best players. And is at a good age to make the move abroad at nearly 27. He's scored about 10 goals a season for Lyon and made a few assists to. My worry, as ever with players from the mediocre french league, is how long will it take for him to settle in the Prem. He seems a similar player to Robert Pires, who was just terrible in his first season at Arsenal but outstanding for years after. If he does sign the rest of the team might be carrying him for about six months. Can the team afford this and will we as fans be patient and wait till the following season to see him shine?
Veronin
I have seen veronin on youtube. He is a good player .He has the mental ability to actually know where the ball is going.Thats why if u check out youtube , you will see that all his goals or the majority are tap ins.
The only things that im not calm about is the steady rate at which we are going in the transfer market.
For three decades we were a commanding force in england. Its true you dont win them all,but to see you team actually competing for honours is great.
The Henry saga:Well if you check out the official site, you'll see some really weird comments about henry signing.Yes he said he would only play for us if it wasnt for arsenal, but he also mentioned that he wouldnt play for another team in england.I want him in an Lfc shirt more than anyone ,but lets keep it real as Ali G says and not listen to anything unless its actually going to happen.
I have lost intrest in waking up in the morning and searching for Lfc transfer news. All I see is youngsters signing and talk about UEFA..Lets look at it this way.Who cares what uefa or fifa say about us.we have proved to everyone out there that we are by far the best fans in the world.
Tomorrow is friday and the weekend is getting closer.lets hope there is major activity then.
JC:wes bloody brown instead of JC...what the hell is SM thinking...I Really wished they would have lost and he gets the sack...the most consistent defender in the Epl and he drops him.
ynwa
D-Day
2moz should be the day S4L when our first major summer signing should be unveiled .... I'm off work so I'll have the T.V firmly on Sky sports news in anticipation (can't wait)!! This whole Terry Henry thing has kept me chuckling the last few days, typical bit of terrace humor just at the right time!
The big man returns from his Hols 2moz and Parry is allegedly very knackered by 'behind the scene' dealings ??????
Damn all serious links to us!
I don't see us even being linked to classy players except Eto'o! Who are we after??
Malouda is an unknown quantity having only played in the French league and Simao seems to be off the radar. If we want to be serious contenders for the title this year we need to sign players that are proven quality. Even if they're a bit older which makes them cheaper. We can't expect to overthrow Utd and Chelski by signing "maybe" players AGAIN.
I have a feeling Trezequet could do very well for Liverpool and he has long been linked. He has a good strike rate at Juve and with Kuyt doing all the donkey work beside him he would be able to be the predator in the box we so badly need.
He's 29-30 but is a fit lad so should not struggle with the Premiership. Owen scored again for England, even if technically he is worse than he was at 17. I still have such respect for his goalscoring instincts I would celebrate his return. But I don't think Benitez will take him.
My money is on Tevez or Villa coming to Anfield.
gotta be
I have a feeling Tevez will be on the way (crosses fingers). He would be a fantastic piece to the puzzle and by all accounts it's a done deal. Could be sensationally wrong and Rafa signs a 9 yr contract extension which is the 'good news' the increasingly tight looking Americans were on about! lol
A lot of talk the past 2
A lot of talk the past 2 days about Liverpool linked with West Ham players and vice versa.
Benayoun to LFC
Tevez to LFC
Bellamy to West Ham
These are just rumours. But as the saying goes, there's no smoke without fire. I would expect some sort of deal between the two clubs again in the near future. It might not be these players involved, but the press are sniffing around and I'm sure they've made a logical link some how.
No more signing...only kids now!!!
Well...keep waiting everybody..we'll get more kids coming...wait for some 10-15 years more coz Rafa is preparing a team like Assnal who wil get us the title in some decades....No great player at the horizon...ManUre is complete, Chelski don't have Abrahams money anymore or will get liverpool's target..Assnal got its kid and few of liverpool targets...so only crappy players left for us. Take your red candles and keep waiting :))
cm
wait till the spanish, league ends . the 17th of june , i think are targets are there. its the only reason i can give for us taking, so long.the only other player is that french winger. i hope we get a few in as we all know. we will need them.
just heard
hi dont know if u already know but i just heard that stevie g & reina has signed 4 liverpool 4 good NOW THAT IS GOOD NEWS
Yeah jules
Yeah jules its great news...But is that all we have to build our hopes on ?I should really hope not.
I dont want our old signings signing new contracts when it means the board can consider them as brand new signings ...Thats basically what Hicks Gillet and Rafa have said afterwards.
Yes we need to keep our top class players, but is that all ? What happened to building for the future (the very near future ..ie 2007-2008)
The talks are based on what exactly ? Oh yeah how to divert our attention by talking about the new stadium.CON ARTISTS DO THAT ..THEY DIVERT YOUR ATTENTION TO SOMETHING ELSE AND DO WHAT EVER THEY LIKE JUST TO SHUT YOU UP....GILLET, HICKS , PARRY ...ALL BLOODY CON ARTISTS.
i know we need
i know we need more new players but r we going 2 get them looks like we getting eto yes but we need more class seems like man u r getting in there 1st its a damn shame we r getting 2nd best
should work
if the link below is active have a read!!
http://www.dailymail.co.uk/pages/live/articles/sport/football.html?in_article_id=461000&in_page_id=1779&ct=5
eto
i do not think, we will get eto.but ihave heard newcastle want bellamy. hey a swap with owen, yes. i have heard the mancs want treves from west ham and have offerd 12 mil. those yanks may have sold us down the river.
Same mediocre team as last season!!
Seems like Benitez want to keep up with the same mediocre team as last season...and continue to finish 3rd..or get beaten by Arsenal's kid!!! Coz he wants to keep Alonso, sissoko... so whats the change..i don't see any good one coming..just same old Rotation stuff..and we lose again at the begining of the season...At least if Alonso or sissoko would have gone we would have got the money to get Eto in exchange and may be the wingers like simao etc...But with Sissoko and Xabi remaining..where will the new players if any come play..so it means same old Rotation!!!
And looks like ManU is getting Tevez..What the fuck is Benitez doing..the rivals are getting stronger and stronger..and we are just watching.
rafa
you cannot blame rafa , its the yanks. he needs doe, there will be a uproar. if the yanks let us down.we have had talk, the talk we want walk, the walk.
would b good
would b good if we could get ronaldo from man u piss them right off haha
bent
just heard we are after bent. ihope not, i do not think he will fit in . no way is he worth 15 mil not even 10 mil.he is not a bad player but not liverpool class.we want a world class striker not bent. come on rafa, get your finger out.
Rouman I think of it like this
If we get a striker based on how many goals he scored last season or what not , the same thing is gonna happen in the way bellamy progressed !FYI he didnt and neither will bent.He isnt world class!
I just mean how Bellamy banged in 15 or so goals so we went and got him and his first season has been a bit crap cause it's a huge step up, I can see Bent being the same.
Guess I just had my hopes up of signing Eto'o or Villa and now it looks like we're going back to 3rd and 4th options if this is true.
just checking the news
and it seems that if we were to bid for bent , we'd be in a bidding war with West ham, tottenham, and valencia...with the latter team aside...I think it speaks for itself at how degrading it really is...instead of a bidding war with The Fercking mancs and the Twats from london, we are bidding with a team that almost got relegated and a team that only qualifies for uefa cup.
Bent isnt that good ,no one else wants him...why the hell should we take him.Like a fellow Red said...mancs and chelsea shop at harrods and we shop at primark(primark is awesome btw)
bent
come on lads, villa is better than bent.as for shoping at primark, more like sainsburys, buy one get one free.as for parry he should have left with moores.
Simao to lyon ??
Looks like our dithering in the transfer market may have cost us another quality player. The Mail says that Lyon are in pole position for Simao, and what with Malouda whoring himself off to the highest bidder, eto'o stating that he has no intention of leaving Barca, it looks like we are going to be 'Really happy' with Darren Bent, Yossi Benayoun and The continents prolific goalscorer Voronin.
I hope its all crap and Rafa has some pleasant surprises for us when the spainish league is over and he & Parry get their arses in gear, but I wont be getting over excited about closing the gap on the others until their paraded at Anfield.
FFS Parry do something about this ..your not exactly making a good impression on us fans..I vote for Parrys Head ..anyone wanna join ?
