Well we lost..so fucking what..but fucking hell I am a proud liverpool fan tonight..we might of out classed the bastards but that doesnt matter..gerrard had a shit game and so did zenden and that doesnt matter..we lost and thats that...we are bloody liverpool and bloody hell the future looks great...hats of to the lads for playing their hearts out we deserved to win but again that doesnt matter anymore ....chin up lads and ladettes ...we have a great team here and we should all remain proud...I LOVE U LFC REGARDLESSSSSS.....YNWA TO ALL AND TO ALL A GOOD NIGHT.

We were very unlucky to concede at such a bad time before the break. The 1st goal was always going to decide the game because at this level all teams counter attack very well once they get ahead.

But we badly lack a world class centre forward, a class left winger and a right winger who can put in killer crosses like Alves.
Also Riise was very poor on the ball.

We are a very hard team to beat and if we got ahead Milan wouldn't have broken us down. But once we go behind we lack the attacking class to get back into the game.

I was amazed though at how tired we looked after 75 mins and even in the last 4 minutes we looked jaded when we had a real chance to lump it in the box. Jamie C looked knackered tonight after an hour.

While we are all so dissapointed it has to be said we actually got things right this time. The first half showed that Rafa got it spot on tactically.

The formation was right. Flooding the midfield diffused the influence of Kaka and Pirlo. Wide right, Pennant frequently found himself in space and created many oppotunities.

Tactically we got it right. Instead of sitting back and inviting Milan onto us we pressed them high up the pitch and enjoyed the best of the first half possession.

Team selection was spot on. Pennant was an inspired selection in the first half. Zenden was rubbish and we should of played kewell. But really you cannot argue with the selection.

Ulimately fate was our foe, as it was our friend two years ago. the first goal was a fluke (and perhaps a handball), but whatever it changed the game. Milan could afford to play on the counter attack. They flooded their box. They learned fromtwo years ago.

So we remain five times champions. But we are no longer the team that was lucky in 2005. Nobody can now question that title and we will now be feared in every continental competition.

We are once again a force in the European game.

Is that really the cause of fate that we lost??? We missed so many chances in the first half,is it lack of luck or incompetence from the players???
Pennant had a very good game, still some are requesting his head and asking for him to be replaced with players like Simao or Alves, these Players will take time to adapt, so shall we wait 10 more years!!!!
Rafa substitution was inverse of what he did in 2005, in 2005 kewell played first half and when he was replaced we won..But in 2007 he did a big mistake by removing the Defensive midfielder Mascherano, had he been on field Milan would not have got the second goal and we would have got our comeback, But Crouch was needed as an option..So was it really that much important to keep Dirk Kuyt in that game after he wasted so many chances???? He is same to Traore, make lots of mistakes, and with just one action everybody forget him!!!
He is the most wasteful striker i have seen in my life, all strikers at least got goals in their life by scoring, not just running all across the field!!
Pennant has been sending crosses all throughout the game but for whom??? Kuyt was never there neither gerrard?? We really need to get a good strike-minded team, not just a good striker!!!
Rafa is just too stubborn at times...But we have no other option than to trust him, Hope he does a better job next season.

Well its the morning after and I'm over the worst of it now, so here goes!!

Firstly I have to say that we were the better team, more passion, more determination, more grit and we were up there technically! AC millan's Genuine applause at the end confirmed that to me it was a case of typical Italian cunning that undid us! They took apart manure, they relied on fortune with us!

I think most LFC lads will wake up today with ideas of how they could have improved but in all honesty last nights performance should win you games.

Gutted, obviously but that was a great platform to assess the team and it's that the left wing is still the problematic area for the squad. Zenden is a nice guy and a good character to have in the dressing room but he's not a winger anymore and that severely reduced our attacking threat. Perhaps Rafa should of made the switch earlier with Kewell who has a lil pace and decent shot on him but it's over now.

Pennant was very strong on the wing linking well with finnan, and those that say we need Simoa need to recognize that he will only continue to improve and that is very exciting. Bags of ability and always provided and out let, plus he got stuck in!! Well done mate!!

I never quite understood why Mascherano was subbed as he gives us stability because of his discipline and reading of the game plus he's ferocious little tackler!

At half time the game was screaming for Crouchie, and maybe he should have come on sooner!!

Overall good team effort good tactics just real unlucky with the result. But I will say this ... SACRIFICE the champs league next season for the EPL because that is the true measure ... AC MILAN are NOT the best team in Europe and we all know!!!
