Rafa Defends Sissoko

Rafael Benitez has moved to defend Momo Sissoko after the midfielder has been receiving criticism recently for some of his performances.
Sissoko will probably be the first to admit he has not performed as well as he would have liked to, but despite putting in some great performances this season (Barcelona, Nou Camp for example), he has been receiving alot of stick for not making the right pass, giving the ball away, not shooting when having a good chance.
The arrival of Javier Mascherano has not helped Sissoko's cause, everyone seems to think Mascherano is a replacement for Momo, but Benitez has spoken up about Sissoko, saying he will bounce back to form better than ever :
People still don't realise how young Momo is, He's moved to a big club in a new country and played really well for a long time, but he's not an experienced player.
"We're not talking about someone like Didi Hamann who developed over a long period of his career, but a player who is still learning part of the game.
"When Momo came back from his shoulder injury, he played at a really high level immediately. Sometimes this happens when you come back, but then after four or five games it's harder to play at the same consistency if you've not played for a long time. Before this he also had a serious eye injury. I don't think that's still troubling him, but he did really well to come back so quickly from this. He's been really unlucky with injuries for the last two years and still came back strong.
"When you set a really high standard people expect you to play this way in every game. That's not easy, particularly for a young player, but Momo has been really good for us. I'm not worried about him. There are times in a season when it's more difficult and with Mascherano coming here and playing well, that adds to the competition. But we all know Momo's qualities."

What does he have that is so great that he doesnt deserve a good arse kicking ?Another disgusting display from a so called "New viera"I really cant believe this lad ..he stinks of crap when he plays for us ...cant shoot cant pass cant do shit to save his life...Im disgusted about the team selection and also cant believe what the players are doing..pennant again has shown what he is capable of...he got loads of slack ..i think its time for momo to get some slack from the fans and see how he turns out...loan him or sell him coz tbh he is worthless now ...zenden also can leave for bloody free for all i care ...arent we supposed to be winning games like this ? I thought that 3rd place was our goal for the time being and then think of CL semi final let alone FINAL!! With the way we are playing and the team selection put forth . I think that our champions league place is under threat and its only bloody half time...i really wish i can eat my words after the end of the game but too many 0-0 draws is whats doing us in ...FUCKING GET A GRIP LADS AND FUCKING HELL ITS STILL CALLED THE ANFIELD FORTRESS...LETS SHOW THEM WHY FOR FUCK SAKE.

in true scouse fashion pal "calm down! calm down!" every game lasts 90mins, doesn't matter if you score in tne 1st min, last or 3rd of injury time! we won 2-0, got the 3pts and are now just 1 win away from securing champions league football next season.
i'm not getting above my station here, some people would say "champions league football? he should be going on about the premiership!". well we are not good enough to win that yet are we so i can't!
what is it with some fans and sissoko? i think he's a class act. just because he hasn't scored for us yet doesn't mean he is a bad player. he tracks back, tackles hard and reads the game well and he is still only young! as for pennant let's see what next season brings. i'm a firm believer that it can take a whole season for a player to settle at a new club properly. in the last few games pennant hasn't been too bad. as for zenden you are spot on! how the hell does he pull a liverpool shirt on and not feel guilty is beyond me! waste of time rafa, get rid!

Ok richie i see where ur coming from and thank god i ate my words last night , but its just that i love this club so much and wonder if im in over my head sometimes..i have two brothers who are bloody mancs and all hell breaks loose when we play together .Its true sissoko is young ..and its not that big of a deal that he hasnt scored...javier hasnt but he plays neater footie to be honest.Sissoko needs to learn how to pass and how to tackle with out getting booked or getting a warning ..we both saw javier tackle yesterday and it was great..and thank god rafa realised that sissoko wasnt good enough for the game and subbed him off for kuyt..i dont think we would of won if that didnt happen.
You said something that "it doesnt matter if u dont score in the first minute right? well ok , but playing nice football where u can pass the ball around for at least a couple of minutes is nice...we play beautiful football in the Champions league...why cant we play it when were playing in the EPL...its a mystery to me ...im calm now but sissoko frustrates me just like some fans say Garcia frustrates them!!
