Liverpool boss: I'm going nowhere

Liverpool manager Rafa Benitez has today said he is going nowhere, despite constant reports linking him to Real Madrid.

Real Madrid are reportedly seeking to offer Rafa Benitez a huge contract for him to replace Fabio Capello, and he has been linked with the job in the past, but the Boss gave the news all Liverpool fans wanted to hear : He is staying at Anfield.

Speaking today about the Real Madrid stories, Benitez said : "I think it's important the fans know I am completely committed to Liverpool Football Club and I'm going nowhere.

"I know there's been a lot of speculation in the Spanish media linking me with Real Madrid.

"Any manager would be honoured to be associated with such a famous club, especially as Madrid is my home city and also my former club. However, I want to make it clear I am very happy at Anfield and very happy in England and I'm genuinely excited by what the future holds for Liverpool.

"I've had some extremely positive discussions with the new owners and share their enthusiasm and determination to take this club back to the very top.

"I will be sitting down shortly with both Mr Gillett and Mr Hicks to discuss things face to face, but an enormous amount of work is already underway in preparation for the way forward"

This wont stop the rumours though, as they come around all the time, no doubt there will be some crap in tomorrow's papers that he is ready to quit .

One day he will

As much as I respect and admire Rafeal ,I belive one day he will leave for Real Madrid. Not in one or two season later,Maybe five to six season later plus the Epl title at lfc .

We have to accept that spain is his native country and Real madrid is his home town .Important of all the club where he start his career.Lfc will be unable to keep him for about 20 year ,10 year maybe. The mostimportant is he leave Lfc a base to work upon .

Whats the big deal ??

Ok Rafa said the younger lads should play in the bottom leagues ..so what ??. i know its a bit harsh but lets all imagine if that gum chewing scum fergie had mentioned it...what would the reaction to the other clubs be ?? Im damn sure that it would've been a different story ..if not the same story ppl would of calmly took it to heart and shut up..but no because its our rafa (our as in liverpools rafa)they make a big deal out of it ...I CANT EMPHASIZE ENOUGH ON HOW MUCH I HATE THE MANCS I REALLY REALLY CANT

Ground Share & Club v Country

I have no time for the Bitters much like anyone else but it seems totally stupid to have the corner flags nearly touching. An 80,000 joint stadium would be a massive boost for the local area - it has been achieved elsewhere. Neither club (one in particular) can afford to ignore the financial benfits of such a move.
As for club v country I totally agree - notwithstanding indviduals like Neville, Andy Johnson etc this shambles is run by the FA. I personally cannot forgive the FA for their part in the Hillsborough tragedy. We play Arsenal on Saturday and last night Gerrard is flogging his guts out against a Pub Team from Andorra - bloody madness.

nxt 2 games

With stevie g, like sum1 said, flogging his guts out for a lost cause against a conference level team last nite i hope rafa doesn't decide to "rest" him sat with the psv game in mind. The nxt 2 games outcome could just shape our season, we need to be at 100% so with that in mind no zenden please rafa!
