How many players are we short from winning the premiership?
I know we have had a few disapointing results recently , that have realisticly put us out of the Premiership race, but how many players are we away from a real Premiership title challenge? I reckon 4 possibly 5 I feel we need an attack minded full back, a top quality striker to play alongside and have an understanding with Fernando Torres, a top quality winger who can with an eye for goal and a goalscoring midfielder, and possibly a creative midfield player.I also think the team should be built around the following players : Reinna Arbeloa Carragher Agger Mascherano Gerrard, Torres, thats 7 players that can be relied upon to perform week in week out, I quite like Bennyoun and Alonso and reckon Babel and Lucas have potential, however I feel that all the other players not mentioned are not up to the task and should be sold in an end of season clear out. What do you guys think ?
I think first of all that you need to make some decisions in your mind Eddie, coz you are so controversial...You want us to have so many players and still avoid "rotation" or changes to be made...Do u think its that easy to keep all the players happy by just telling them to wait 3-4 months before playing.
All we need is one striker who is capable of taking his chances, and we can win the Premier league..the other players we have have displayed they can play good football and create lots of chances, minus sissoko, all other can perform well and create chances..we just need someone to take them... Don't tell me Gerrard and Torres are irreplacable, coz they missed so many occasions against wigan..shooting the keeper. All we need is an striker, and some offloading..along with changes in the technical staff, and we can win the title this season itself.
I cannot agree criticalmind, the current squad are a long way away from winning the Premiership, Rotation could work but only when the peplacement player is of a certain quality, ir's no use rotating Torres for any of the other three strikers coz there are all crap. Other players like Pennant Kewell Riise arnt doing a lot either add the three so called strikers thats six passengers plus Sissoko 7 thats a lot of players. 7 out of a squad of say 22, then you have Babel Bennyoun Aand Lucas three players with ability but hardly consistant, they are still finding there way.The squad does need strenthening in more positions than just upfront.
I believe if the following squad can build consistency, they can live up to the job..

Subs: Itandje- good back up for reina
Alonso- Good sub for Mascherano

And now we've got Skrtel as sub for defence
As well as Hobbs
Voronin can be added as back up for the second striker that we still miss.
What else do we need, Our players have been creating loads of occasions, meaning the play level is good, we just need to take the opportunities.
No more adding..just ofloading.
We are in need of at least 3-4 quality players we need a quality attacking winger that can take people on can score and put in a good cross. QUARESMA springs 2 mind i know i said he was a show boat but what the hell he is a good player at the end of the day we need an attacking midfielder that is strong in the center of the park and can also score and dominate in the middle. GATTUSO would be a good choice in that area u may have ur choice. and we need a quality striker that would have an understanding with torres that has pace can score with both feet. DEFOE would be a good buy 4 torres he can score with both feet has pace and he's a poacher like fowler and rush. we could prob do with another winger on the right.SWP would be my choice he's a little dynamo got pace takes people on gets in good crosses and scores goals who would u reccomend?

I do not why I have this feeling that if Gerrard not in the team ,rest of lfc players seem play much better.I suspect that ,the rest of the players are looking for him much too often .Similarly to Henry at Arsenal,the rest of the players express themselves and play more freely when he leave .
