The potential signing of Skrtel must hit people like Hobbs on the head with a hammer. The boy seems to be good enough to play first team football and be on the subs bench, but with the news of something like the possible Skrtel signing what does that say to Hobbs? To me it indicates that Benitez has no faith in his ability. Simple as that. If he does, why go for Skrtel? We have seen this so many times with Rafa. We have good `reserves' but they are held back by incoming `stars' (for that read Vronin v Craig Linfield and Sissoko v Lucas as examples). I have said this over and over again, the Club is overstaffed. We have too many `for the future' players. Either play them at the highest level or sell them.

I mean where wud players like Hobbs get his motivation from, if new players keep comin in? And tats exactly why they end up on loans, and eventually sign there..

I remember a player we once had called Job Otsemobor.. He had a short run in the 1st team n i tot he did well.. But i've no idea where he is now.. Last i knew he was on loan at Bolton i think..

 Subject: RAFAS YOUTH POLICY SUCKS

In the three and a half years that Rafa's been in charge I dont think one youngster has come through the ranks, hard to believe considering we won the youth cup twice in that time. We need to get rid of the dead wood and nurture some of these youngsters , I;m sure theres a diamond in there somewhere , they cant all be crap. Hobbs has looked ok but like you say he now drops down the pecking order , i'd have preffered us to have given him a run of games to see if he is the real deal or not , if he is then 6m could have been saved and directed at other areas of the team that need strenthening.Thats not having a go at Skirtel who I know very little about .

Gerard, Carragher, Kewell, Torres are the undisputed, top of the range, must keep players.

Riise, Hyypia are excellent put will be retiring in the medium future.

Reina, Mascherano, Benayoun, Agger, Arbeloa, Crouch and Aurelio are all players with the potential to flourish in the right environment.

Lucas, El Zhar and Hobbs are part of LFC’s future and there talents must be nurtured and given a chance to shine instead of wasting money on new buys.

Sissoko, Pennant, Finnan, Alonso, Kuyt, Voronin and Babel must all be sold now. Preferably along with Benitez. Our tolerance of mediocrecy is costing us dearly, we are dropping a spot on the ladder every month or so with the potential of ending in 9th or 10th place by the end of the season and the possibility of loosing our top warriors to other clubs.

Rafas youth policy stinks! all the reserve players in the side and not one has come through the ranks 2 have a decent run in the first team! take hobbs 4 excample he has played a couple of games 4 the first team and yet rafa isnt gonna give him a decent run in the side that will knock his confidence for 6! spending £6.5m on an unknown defender is a bit risky! that money should of gone 2wards the deal 4 mascherano and put hobbs in 2 the first team and build up his confidence how else is he gonna prove himself 2 a daft rotating havent got a clue manager! that what pisses me off with rafa he doesnt give some of the reserves a decent run in the side i.e- elzahr, hobbs, leto, insua etc etc... as ed said there has 2 be a diamond there amoungs those
