WHO SHOULD PLAY ALONGSIDE TORRES ?
With so many chances going begging, and our failure to take any costing us dearly who should we play upfront alongside Fernando Torres ? Kuyt Voronin Crouch Babel or should we try a youngster. My personal choice would be Babel and I reckon Benetez should play Torres and Babel together as a unit for the next 4 or 5 games without rotation. My second choice combo would be Torres and Crouch , based on Crouches superior goalscoring recold, Voronin is more of a link up player, where as Kuyt is just a work horse. Playing one up front as we did against Wigan simply doesnt work, GOALS WIN GAMES playing with one solitary striker is playing into the oppositions hands. Another striker has to be a priority for next season.
torres and voronin are probbly our best strikers, i know a lot of people keep on about crouch but he just doesn't seem to have it any more, he is sloppy with his passes and doesn't hold up the ball as well as he used to, additionally i don't think we should be holding the ball up quite as much, with babel and the left and pennant on the right the team should be able to break very quickly and get the ball the torres up front who is obviously the main man. another point is that babel is still developing so putting him in a more peripheral role out on the wing should allow him to ease himself into games more easily as apposed to getting booted by massive centre backs, he normally one scores when we are two goals up when the CBs have given up, though i do think he is the future partner for torres just not yet

I'd prefer This pair, with Babel on the bench till 50th minute, when opposition is tired...Voronin is much more better than Crouch in helping Torres and other players in link up..he is also up in front of goal to take his chances as compared to kuyt...He just need to be allowed to stay upfront rather than going back to help midfielders. Crouch also concede tooo many fouls upfront by leaning on opponents. Babel did played as a striker earlier in the season from the beginning, and did not look that impressive, he is simply not ready yet.
Anyway, whoever Rafa plays, he will get critisized, he did saw that both Kuyt and Crouch sucks, so he tried Gerrard upfront, unfortunately he let us down.
Another quality striker is needed at the club, if rafa wants to win the PL. crouch, kuyt, voronin are not gud enuff to partner torres or start a game. Quality players, win u games and apart from torres, there is no other quality striker at the club.
