One of Two Things
Liverpool was supposed to challenge for its first Premiership title. Millions of dollars spent on players. But the season, AGAIN, is a disappointment. Can't beat Manchester United at home. Can't beat Arsenal at home. Can't beat Chelsea at home. And tie or lose to second rate teams with alarming consistency. Why? There are only two possibilities.
One: The players we have are simply not as talented as we were led to believe. The players, in short, are average and fighting for a spot in Europe is the best we can hope for from this mediocre group of players.
Or Two: The managing of this team is horrid. Rafa Benitez is the cause for Liverpool's disappointing season. He never sticks with one main unit, like Sir Alex or Arsene do, but switches every game. So his players never really mesh with each other. And when playing a lowly team like Wigan, at home, needing a win, he puts out a lineup featuring ONE striker. ONE BLEEDING STRIKER AGAINST WIGAN!!!
I don't know about you, but this is a lost season, again. I think the talent is here. I think Liverpool has a wonderfully talented squad on paper. We are losing because of the wretched managing of Rafa Benitez. Period.
You can never achieve success but chopping and changing players every game. You can never achieve success by playing cautiously against a lower echelon team. To all the Rafa fans out there, cheer on, rail on loudly in your support for him. And never worry about being bothered by a Premiership title. As long as he's here, there'll never be such a title in Liverpool. He has to change his ways or go. It's that simple. All Rafa wants to do is throw more money at more players during the transfer window so he make more chops and changes every game.
I'd love to see the Reds up there fighting for a title with the true Big Three. But again, they are drifting behind and face a real battle just to hang onto a place in Europe. And that's how it will be as long as Rafa is here. Period. End of sentence.

we have some of the best players in europe and the world. mascherano gerrard torres carra reina alonso are really world class players who would walk into any team mate. the rest are decent therefore it must be something else. i dont know if its rafa tactics but even so if world class players cant win a match without the manager holding their hands then something is a miss. This blaming rafa on his own must stop. rafa doesnt play on the pitch, the players are the ones who must show bit more about them. yes rafa has to take blame for his part but the players i have mentioned have played all the time when free from injury so this crap about rotation isnt applicable. reading wigan derby etc etc etc dont have any world class players and we couldnt beat them or only just. THAT IS THE PLAYERS, not rafa. Home form has cost us this year, losing 1 and drawing 5 from ten at home is a disgrace for us. yes manure and arsenal and chelsea are amongst them, however that leaves 7 games to win and we have only won 4. that isnt good enough. we play attacking football at home, we deserved to beat chelsea they were lucky, arseanl came from behind, manure were lucky as we dominated that game, in the 1st parts, so that shows rafa knows how to attack. lets not look for a scapegoat, sensibly assessments are needed not calling for a mans head, when more than one are to blame, including players, injuries etc.
I agree to a degree stulivered, look at the team Rafa put out against Wigan and tell me who you woudnt have played other than perhaps another forward. The team selected was Reinna Finnan Carragher Arbeloa Aurelio Pennant Gerrard Mascherano Alonso Kewell Torres. Subs included Kuyt Crouch Bennyoun. THAT TEAM WAS EASILY STRONG ENOUGH TO BEAT A TEAM LIKE WIGAN. So either Rafa's tactics were wrong or the players under performed, to my mind it was a combination of both we should have played two players up front, but having not done so the players selected should still have been far too good for lowly Wigan. Just look at our midfield Gerrard Mascherano Alonso Kewell how the hell were these players not good enough to beat Wigan. THE PLAYERS HAVE TO SHOULDER SOME OF THE BLAME.
Rafa Benitez doesn't do himself a lot of favours by constantly changing the team but there is something fundermentaly wrong if that team he selected can't go out and win. These players are earning £30-40,000, £100,000 a week in some cases are they LACKING AMBITION ? , ARE THEY LACKING MOTIVATION ? OR ARE THEY PLAYING IN THERE COMFORT ZONE ?
i am a loyal liverpool supporter but it is true our problem is our managing. there is no bekief or strong intent anymore and even though benitez got us 2 european cup finals its time for the prem and he isnnt the guy for it. ever since pako left and arguments with the owners liverpool have gone down and we need a top class manger and assistant who are ready to put out a non rotating systemmn and land the strongest eleven available every week.benitez has done alll he can for liverpool and if he keeps rotating he wont progress and the yanks will kick him out!suprisingly we have never had a worse home form in the last ten years and its costing us. hopefully benitez shud sign some quality replace kuyt voronin sissoko and riise
Are our players hungry enough to win us the premiership ? Is Rafa unable to motivate the players ?
With all this rotation does it leave players not really caring as to wether they play or not ?, play well get dropped next game , play badly so what Rafa will give me another chance in a couple of games time. I get payed the same money wether I play or not. Ive said it before and I'll say it again Rafa's rotation policy is the ruination of this club.
i me mine, if i was rafa.
sell crouch 10m, momo 7m and use that money to buy mash.
