We are not a big four club
I am really worried that our position as a top four club is going up in flames.Screw the Epl ,we will end up like newcastle with crappy games like that.Man City will overtake us..and it kills me to say it but so will everton..and maybe pompey..we have boro next anf its away ..and we know how good boro are at home...
Lets face it ...we are no longer a EPL winning team.TBH we never will be.We just kid ourselves every year for the past 18 that we might win it.Its not going to happen im afraid..unless we get cashflow like chelsea to piss it on whatever.
Face it chaps...the season ,as a fellow red said has gone to the dogs.lets just hope we can qualify for europe.
Bring back DIC..also King Kenny

Scouse4life I can't agree with that.
How many clubs can afford world stars like Torres or Gerrard? We remain a fantastic club world wide club with brilliant facilities and a good team. We just have a manager who hasn't the ideas to compete for the league and who uses a defensive style of football which often makes Arsenal and Utd appear in a different league to us. They aren't; they just have better managers who play far better football and pick more skilful and attractive players.
We need a better manager and once we get one things will improve. Winning the league is very hard for us ut Benitez's attempts to win the league have been very poor.
Hence mentioning the likes of king kenny..Nice to see ya again 1Red1Pool.
I finally can agree that the manager needs to be changed to bring a title to liverpool .
Who would you suggest?? and would that risk losing torres and the spanish contingency?
Ynwa
well the way we played against wigan was shit i agree with scouse in that way we aint a top 4 side not that performance! but as 1red1pool said we are a top club with ambition but not or never under RAFA the sooner he goes the better bring back kenny or mourinho he needs 2 walk now b4 he does even more damage 2 our poor season im one pissed off LFC fan 2night!!! argghhh!!!
For fuck sake, we controlled possesion, controlled the game, created good opportunites, scored first, played with confidence, blah, boring, blah...... oh and we didn,t win, but I say I focus on training and coaching my team, blah, blah...... Have I said this before? Have you heard it before? I do not know why we cannot beat fuckin pub teams?
Mourinho has to be first Scouse4life because of the simple reason he knows what takes to win the Premier League. He knows the Boltons and Birminghams and Wigans and what it takes to beat them. Like him or not he is a huge perosnality who will fight for the club. Also, he will raise our profile around the world because he is like a star of football himself compared to Benitez and his boring personality.
Also, his style is similar to Benitez so whilst I don't think he'll play the nice football I want to see, it'll suit the players we have to not change too much. If we want to play like Barcelona you need more technical players than we've got and that's be a whole new period of change which we don't want.
Torres and co.. will stay if the new manager has a high profile and gets the team winning. Remember Gerrard was whinging when Houllier was sacked but soon got over it. Footballers, in the end, look after number one!
I am quite shocked at the anti-Rafa sentiment show here.
This is Rafa's 3rd season, he's already won the champions league, a European Super Cup and an FA Cup for us.
OK it may take him a season or two more to learn what sort of players will handle the English Premier League, and he's certainly learning the hard way, but I'm sure he is learning very quickly what it takes to win this league.
I think he has fallen down with his signings. Perhaps not having the spending power of the other 'top 3' clubs may not have helped him. Perhaps this is the difference between us and the top three? Is this Rafa's fault?
For me, the stalling of Mascherano's contract signing seems to suggest a finance problem, which must be quite unsettling for Rafa, Mascherano and the team. Torres was the one signing of Benitez where the club spent what was necessary for the guaranteed quality that comes along with a £20million price tag. Others have slipped through Rafa's grasp in the past (e.g. Daniel Alvez springs to mind).
We need to back Rafa with money and give this manager a fair crack at the EPL for next season, rather than picking up players of the lower grade.
And who can tell me how many first team senior players have graduated from the Academy? What is the point of the Academy if they can't produce players for the first team?
Don't be shocked redmanyellowman. We all love Liverpool FC - not Rafa Benitez.
My loyalty is solely to the club. He isn't doing the job well enough so like in any other profession we need to replace him for a guy who does the job expected.
You don't need Alves or the spending power of Utd or Chelsea to beat Wigan or Birmingham at home. These are hollow excuses for the manager's failings.
You admit many of his signings have been poor. He's had 4 seasons to learn the league so it's insanity to say he hasn't has time to see what's required. He just can't do it - like Morientes in the Premier league. Great in La Liga, not the Premiership.
