DO WE REALLY NEED TO SIGN ANY PLAYERS IN THE JANUARY TRANFER WINDOW ? THE TEAM IS UNBEATEN WE HAVE A TOP SQUAD OF PLAYERS SO DO WE NEED TO SPEND IN THE COMING TRANSFER WINDOW ? OUR DEFENCE HAS BEEN STRECHED WITH AGGER OUT THROUGH INJURY , BUT SAMI HAS DONE OK AND WE HAVE HOBBS KNOCKING ON THE DOOR OF A FIRST TEAM CALL UP. IN MIDFIELD WE APPEAR TO HAVE PLENTY OF ABILITY AND UP FRONT WE HAVE 4 STRIKERS 5 IF YOU INCLUDE BABELL, SO DO WE REALLY NEED TO SPLASH THE CASH IN JANUARY ? OR SHOULD WE STICK WITH WHAT WEVE GOT AFTER ALL WE SHOULD ONLY IMPROVE.

then we will have 27m, enough for a striker and defender. we can get vincent kompany for 12m and 15m for a striker
What is the new A.F.C LIVERPOOL
With the MK DONS setting up their new club in the shadow of wimbeldon is the news today of A.F.C Liverpool a welcome to us all or an unneeded distraction. Its set up with the thinking that fans should get back to grass roots and ticket prices should be lowered, however with everything else going on in our club is this another distraction against the good name and tradition of our great club?

My opinion is stevie if he wants it but i doubt it, so babel if there is no other new signings, however a good friend said it should be kept free or given to someone who it can be taken off again at ease in the expectation we sign a real winner in the next 2 seasons. Torres good shout but think he playing in his fav N0 already

Luis garcia- much better player technically, and scored more goals,babel is quicker younger better prospects and scores just as many goals, this is a step backwards with the amount of money being offered around. This is a poor deal i think, we werent able to get barry who could of played down the left so we go for this lad, no offence to him but he isnt going to set our title chances alight. our real problem is down the wings and has been for few yrs now, but this is a waste of money, if he flops we are going to lose on the resale value, he isnt that quick and what a joke we miss out on Vincent Kompany for 6 million- you gotta be kidding me that we were not interested in him, young and at that price could of been a safe buy if he fails, scouting system or whoever doing the negociating needs sacking,

i agree with you aboutvincent kompany we should have bought him.not about riera though.he is better than kuyt, pennant. even if he was not my first choice quarsmera is.i think we should give him a chance.he has got skill. lacks pace, but barry is no winger, when was the last time you seen him going past someone.he is not worth the money there asking. but he can play. don,t write barry off yet if alonso goes, barry will be here as well..

I don't think we'll need that much improvement, if we ever bring in anyone in the winter transfer window, it will be an experienced player mostly in defence, no strikers as I can't see a 6th striker coming in (I don't know why on heaven's sake do people still look for another striker!)
So far so good in our squad, and I'll keep it as it is until the end of the season, and we'll see our results in the 4 competitions before making any decisions!
new sigings
i think we do need to sign a couple of new players but 1 player we do need to sign on a permanent deal has to be mashcerano because he is a class apart from the likes of sissoko, he has great vision, has a fantastic passing range and gives gerrard the ability to roam and if we lose a player of his ability it will be a great loss especially when he loves the club, the only other signing i would look to make would be a big commanding center back to replace hypia but other than that i think we have a big enough and strong enough squad to challenge on all fronts, we are unbeaten in the PL and yes we could have played better in most of the matches we have been in but once we come together properly and the squad starts to gel i believe we will be at the top once more.....

I think Deano69 has hit the nail on the head with regards to Mashcerino and Rafa. This is what the discussion with H&G was about and the reason for Rafa's bad press.
Rafa should keep all discussion about LFC behind closed doors and not let his feelings show to the press. The media just love all chances to have a go at the Reds.

Buy Philip Lahm he is available
I heard Lahm is available for 10-12 mil pound .GEt him before barca swoop for free...

"Barcelona have reportedly agreed to sign defender Philip Lahm when his contract with Bayern Munich runs out in the summer of 2009.The Germany international, regarded as one of the most promising full-backs in the world, has been tracked by Barca for some time.
However, it is understood that Barcelona are in no rush to bring in Lahm, as they are not willing to pay the £10.7million demanded by Bayern.
