How can you all say that.
Saying Rafa isnt good enough in C.L. is hypocritical. Most of us few months ago were saying that the C.L is all rafas good at, now after 2 disastours results, we saying he doesnt know europe? come on check your facts.
Saying the team he put out last night was crap is also hypocritical by most (not all)
That team was a strong team, proberly the one i would put out. barring alonso and crouch who havent played in a while who else was available, no one, dont say benayou because we all had pennant down in our strongest sides, over the last few months. Also sami and jamies pace is gone and going respectively. We miss agger but he was injured. Rafa cant change that now, but beginning of the season i did say sami will stuggle to play week in week out because of this pace, but most people backed him saying he still can no probs, so slagging the team off and him now is again hypocritical.
Only difference would of been torres,alonso,agger, ---- all injured or returing.
I dont pretend to know the answers or who is to blame, but dont be jumping on someones back, when some where praising them previous weeks.
Rafa was to blame and so were the players. But regardless of opinion, there wasnt a stronger team available, FACT. Everyone is to blame, we were second best to most balls, not rafas doing, we were unable to match them for pace at back, not rafas doing. we were unable to dribble and gerrard and masch gave the ball away to often, not rafas doing. Fitness looks poor, only this can rafa be blamed for indirectly. We have looked unable to run for 90 mins no high tempo stuff, Thats a problem
Three straight wins, gives us 10 points, that is usually enough to qualify from any group, we all know that. 2 games at home, and the return to marseille which if we get going again, shouldnt daunt us to much, with our big names back.
Be angry yes, be passionte yes, dont look for scapegoats, dont like rafa, tough hes here, live with it. Only thing i blame rafa for is no cover at centre half, and i been saying that since day one. Wanna bust the bank for the future, Kompany in january would be good.
i haved backed rafa all along, but be honest with yourself kuyt, voronin, are only squad players.and pennant has never been a l,ppol player, i have allways said that it was not the stongest team it was the team rafa picked. crouch might not be a work horse but given a run he will score goals,kuyt is at best a sub, look who would buy kuyt, yet clubs are fighting for crouch. and benny is a far better player than pennant, i have never been a fan of his yes the players must take the blame too but how rafa keeps on picking kuyt, instead of crouch is beyound me,
I agree with both of you. However many thousands of words are written about last night and who was to blame for this or that, nothing will change the result.We couldn't currently have a bigger challenge than Arsenal at the week-end. This will really show if we can or will be any sort of a threat. As I've said many times here before, as long as we have Rafa, we have rotation.The international games are over. Please boss just give a settled team some games together. However, lose this and also to Cardiff and I will join the lot of you wondering where it all went wrong! George
When i saw the team sheet the only ingredient that was missing was Crouch and Alonso, and we would have had the same team that went to the Champions league final..so we should stop looking for scapegoats, and admit that the players underperformed... and Rafa did tried to get cover for fullback, if everything rumbled, he can't just go like that and spend 30 million for a reserve defender, or bring a medium one and then start rotating the defenders as well.
But i also agree with Rouman, who has the same opinion as me about kuyt, i don't say he is such a bad player, But i just say he is a VERY BAD striker...strikers are supposed to score, not just run around or hold the ball at the corner post.
As for crouch being given a run of games to improve his confidence, i don't believe in this shit. we don't wanna wait 3 months for him to score again in the EPL, he just scored against toulouse and u guys are thinking suddenly he is great!!! Crouch need to be sold, and rafa will get Alves in his place.
As for, Hyppia..he seems to want to set up a record in scoring owngoal.. he is just too slow for EPL.
I'm not against benitez selection, coz i remember some people when benayoun was bought was saying he is a bad player, then Pennant is a bad player, then kuyt is a very good striker, then bebel is the best winger who will score lots of gaols for us, gerrard should not be substituted coz he can win us the match...alll these coments can be found on other forums on this website...but these people change their minf too quickly.
Once we got Voronin as a freebie, i think its time to sell Kuyt, we need acover for defence, Crouch should be shipped to portsmouth, as well as sissoko...as for the cry for a winger, am not so desesperate about that, all i want in the team is player performance upgrade, and a good pair of Strikers who can bag loads of goals.
i agree with criticalmind on the point that we need to buy an out n out striker .. torres is one and we need another one...someone like luis fabiano from fc sevilla who has shown the desire to leave his club . and i think we need another attacking midfielder.. stevie is not playing that well and we need a good player to fill in for him..tho the first thing rafa got to do is sell the players who want to leave and not fittin in the team..i thnk the whole camp is reeking with inconfidence and some players who not gettin too much playing time or a good contract can be responsible for these circumstances...
