Stick With the Attack
A great start in both the Premiership and Champions League, but I hope Rafa understands the true strength of his team and plays to it. What I mean is that the Reds are an offensive powerhouse. Four superb strikers, and some excellent attacking midfielders. This is a team that should be groomed to play attacking football. Win 3-2 if necessary, but always go to the attack. Rafa has always leaned towards a defensive style and that worked, particularly in the Champions League. But the kind of players you have should dictate the style you play. The Reds have attacking players. I hope they play attacking football. If you try to get them to play staunch, smothering defense, it'll backfire. The players will be out of their element and won't be as good. Attack! Never stop. That's the key to success for our team this season.
Always was our way, way back under shanks paisley fagan and dalglish, lost it under houllier and early yrs under rafa werent the most fulent attacking we been, but rafa now has blind faith in jamie/agger/riise/finnan/pepe and in sisso and mascha he never worries, he trusts them so much to defend, so he basically now has a licence to venture forward all the time without concern for the counter attack, oh and Stevie G is gonna love this, he been waiting for years for the shackles to be removed and now they have a wouldnt put it past him to be 10 up by christmas/december time if he keeps fit, But i still worried like i said about cover for carra/agger i no sami is good but cant help thinking for how long
If you watched the match full last night.I think u would have noticed rafa make the gesture with his hand to keep attacking.This was at 6-0 btw so i think rafa also knows the task is to attack and continue doing it till the final whistle.
Shame the mancs didnt draw.It would of made my day.
Chavski losing 2 nil to the villa, great day, arsenal did well though, but blackburn putting down man city keeps us top i believe, couldnt ask for much more really. That was a gift villa beating chelsea, we need to take it and now put 1 over pompey, because if we fail with redknapps lot then we have thrown this advantage away, we got manure messing up earlier on and now have a chance to put a little bit of distance between us and start stretching the top four, like i said we could be 6 points clear and 9 of manure if we win sept 3 games
Serve Chelsea right 4 tat penalty at anfield. Hope they will b beaten by minnow clubs like derby!
