FORLAN is new anfield target
RAFA BENITEZ is considering a swoop for former Manchester United striker Diego Forlan or Real Zaragoza’s Diego Milito as he revises his striking targets according to his budget restrictions.
While the feverish speculation has focused on high profile signings such as Barcelona’s Samuel Eto’o or West Ham’s Carlos Tevez, Benitez has concluded he doesn’t have the funds required to operate in that end of the transfer market.
Milito, 27, the older brother of one time target Gabriel Milito, has scored 33 goals in 71 games in Spain.
Forlan wasn’t considered a success during his time at Old Trafford, but he’s excelled in La Liga at Villarreal where he averages a goal every two games.

I think if we are going to get one of these players id prefer milito as forlan i dont think will give defenders a threat up front.Oh and he was a manc. i do thnk the links to eto and tevez as gone down. i thnk owen would be better than forlan
Forlan certainly won't give defenders a threat he's useless.
If we dont sign anybody soon up front then i think jason pinapple head lee might dig his boots out and sign for us. As the best players will have signed elsewhere. Ok maybe rafa is waiting for spanish season to finish, but forlan not prove it in prem, morenties did not prov it in prem with us and goes back to spain and bangs them in again. So whats that say, spanish football is played in a different way. the prem is a harder and more physical league, so rafa will have to look very close and see if whoever we get cuts the grade. just hope we get sombody that can get us 20 goals plus, even then his partner needs to be hitting 20 goals a season also. look at spurs there 3 forwards hit 58 goals.
